It's pretty cool to see this thing come back home to a SteelSoldiers member! I remember this being one of the first bob jobs on the site... it looks good. You need to get duals back on the rears, and then it'll look pretty darn good.
Looks like you had a beautiful trip... I've been dying go for a nice drive in the Deuce up here in New England... unfortunately my truck lives at home in GA while I'm up here in MA.
Can a Mod move this to the 5-Ton section?
No HP difference for the 939 and 939A1 series, as they used the same 250 HP, 855 CID n/a NHC250.
The 939 A2s had a turbocharged Cummins 6CTA 8.3 Litre, which puts out the same 240-250 HP.
GLCAINES:
A couple of us have used this place to much success for brake lines; I'd reckon they can do air hoses, too. It's a hike from you, but if you can't find anywhere else:
Royal Brass and Hose Sales and Distribution Branch in Marietta, Georgia
Got my shirt today. Looks excellent! Thanks, WM!
NOTE: the color is a bit off in the pictures do to my phone camera. They are a very nice dun/tan-color. Looks good.
I am envious of both your M819 and your backhoe... some people have all the toys. Then again, some people probably also worked very hard to earn the money to pay for those toys, too.
If you search for "horn" and "deuce horn" and the like, you'll find a couple of decent threads about upgrading from the M-series air horns.
Don't use the built in search feature, go to google.com and type the following:
'searchquery site:steelsoldiers.com' where 'searchquery' is what you're...
Up until now I hadn't posted anything about coming in hopes that I wouldn't jinx myself... and that didn't work. Class schedule and other academic paraphernalia prevent me from attending this year [again].
I'm getting bored of making excuses, so, as I have said multiple years in a row now...
