If he gave you a written warning it should have the statute on it.

What have you done to your CUCV today/lately - Part 2

Thanks for bringing this thread back. I was bummed that I couldn't post that I ordered a new brake proportioning valve for the 1009. Got tired of adding a pint for dot 5 a week...

    Post your cucv pics here

That is unfortunate that they would not let the boys ride. My 1009 is like a mascot for the boys, if the float was not allowed they would have marched behind it. The boys love it!

    Glow Plug survey

AC 60 for me. Over 18 months and have no problems. Removed them when I put in a new IP and injectors to drop compression and make bleading easier. No swelling and all went right back in.

Don't think that the issue, I just installed it a week ago, I am wondering if I need to loosen the injector lines a bit to let it rotate.

6.2 timing chain stretch or Fast idle switch causeing rough starts.

6.2 timing chain stretch or Fast idle switch causeing rough starts.

Well that may explain it. I was always under the impression that lined up was right, and some bumped it to get better performance and to make up for a worn timing chain. Project for the weekend.

6.2 timing chain stretch or Fast idle switch causeing rough starts.

Glow plugs are all good, by the DMM, 2.1 or so Ohms. The fast idle is working when dead cold, checked that, but there is a spot where is not coming on but the motor is not warm enough. Maybe the switch on the head is not closing at the right temp anymore? The switch is pricy, and the chain is...

6.2 timing chain stretch or Fast idle switch causeing rough starts.

Spray and pressure should be good as I installed new injectors when I had the pump rebuilt last week.

6.2 timing chain stretch or Fast idle switch causeing rough starts.

I know that the timing chain on the 6.2 can stretch and retard timing. I am having problems when the M1009 starts cold, it smokes a lot, and idles very rough for about 5 seconds at the first start of the day. Once warm it is great. Once it cools down to about 100 on the gauge the fast idle...

Chaski, you nailed it. It was a half a hair behind the line, so I bumped it up a half a hair advanced and it is acting right! Thanks all!

    Cold Advance issues

Glow plugs are cycling as advertised, I get the wait light, and can see the Volt meter drop, but when warm, not hot not cold, it still is a bear to start.

It is the cold advance switch, rear of passenger head, two prong connector. it will start, but it is very rough, and smokey. Pump was rebuilt a week ago.
