Added 3 gallons used motor oil to 20 gallons of diesel fuel and drove it 400 miles from Fallon Nevada to Lemoore California no problems at all. Averaged 21.7 MPG.
Took the 99 to the 80 out of Sacramento, over to Reno, then down. No photos. It did use a half qrt of oil, but some of the passes I had to drop it into 2nd and had it floored just to maintain 45MPH. So the 1/2 Qrt does not concern me to much.
Well arrived, took 9 hours due to traffic, no issues. It was a dog on the hills, but that was expected. Did use about 3/4 qrt of oil. not to bad all in all.
Heading out in a couple hours to drive from Lemoore CA to Fallon NV. The 1009 should do great. New spin on filter with spare, new belts with spares, spare injectors. Fresh wheel bearing and oil changes.
Looking forward to some desert exploring in Fallon, any sugestions?

My head hurts.
2 Weeks ago I replaced the wheel bearings, but did not have a torque wrench. So the next weekend I acquired a wrench and re-torqued to spec(35 Ft Lbs.). The lock washer lined up on both sides at 35 pounds so all went back together. Wheels had a good amount of drag but that is...
This thread makes me wish I needed a glownplug card just so I had a reason to do business with antenna climber. Hats off to you antena climber. World would be a better place if everyone did businessnthis way.
Just about every day, it is only 15 miles round trip to work. I usually drive it in the morning, and home for luch, take the car back after lunch, it is over 100 degrees by then and the M1009 don't have A/C...
