    Now whats the pros and cons to using flat white and a stencil v/s vinyle lettering . Im sure the stencil is much cheaper . Paint more setting of the time the truck was used . paint of stencil set ?

    Yes im aware , Its a 71 . I seen a couple trucks done in the dark semi gloss and just didnt care for the look so i picked this color . I do like the white star however . Apparently im not to far left field with this color and the white star/lettering .

    Im aware they are all power brakes , just saying the feel of the pedal and stopping power reminded me of a pickup with manual brakes , well for us old enough to have driven them anyway . They were exceptible but not super . Im getting things done on it , just a lot slower then i planned ...

    12v-71 detroit diesel

    I still run an 8V in a 74 KW i have . They ran well in there day , had more rpm then most diesels did back then . HP was not great though compared to a modern motor . They still sound mighty mean though :driver:

    Concerns of paint dust / sanding

    Iv done a lot of repaints over the years , im just not up to date with what this military paint is comparied to normal enamil , laquer and so on . Like you said , what it been exposed to during service , plus i dont know the true make up of the orginal paint .

    thanks for the tips guys . Works slow and i have some time to kill . Maybe ill get the CJ5 out and finish up the things on that i need to finish . Deuce can wait a while i guess .
