if possible... all i need to install my pintle is a metal support. it is in the -20p 115-2 Part number 40 in the figure. 14067775 is the part number listed. it's the long metal bar that goes under the pintle assembly and accross to both lower shackle supports. if you have me want... let me...
i'm 100% ready to rock :driver: truck is in one piece and i'm mounting my rear pintle and shackle points this weekend. Spare tire gets mounted tomorrow. Welding work gets done next week. The rig is ready. is the driver?8)
SHE LIVES. Gen 1 was a little too far back and needed a few washers to make the belt run straight. That belt blew off tearing up the rest of them and causing the downward spiral. But new belts and coolant and 400$ including the tow and all is well. Looks like rausch is back on and next week...
Ok update is as follows. Gey says hes throwing on new belts to road test it and he "knows how hot it got cuz there was grease everywhere". I dont know what that means. I just really hope she isnt fried. I would love to builder her batter faster and stronger... just the money issue.
I didnt really continue far... once the overheat light went on i pulled over after maybe a quarter mile. Engine was strong untill i stopped so i dont think there is any engine damage at this point. I wasnt doing anything to push the truck other than drive it when i knew something wasnt right...
So against my better judgement i was driving to my g/f's little spa retreat place after she guilted me. I felt a weird vibration for the last few days and didnt want to put on the miles or travel far from home. Well an hour in... clank clank both gen lights come on. I say ok and continue to...
starter, second alternator, extra leaf in the front, they may be wider as well, you're big issues will be with electrical. There are a bunch of parts that are a PITA. Glow plug control module, resistors. Also there is the blackout drive system.
Because we have a search function and most all of these questions are answered in specific existing threads... This FAQ is for posting ANSWERS to Frequently Asked Questions. It's turning into a mess of information that is impossible to navigate. Thus producing nothing useful.
i donno what my truck is doing... it runs feels powerful the mounts are good as is the balancer... but my whole **** truck shakes when that 6.2 idles. frankly... i kinda like it. :-D:cookoo:rofl
welcome to the world of Steel Soldiers. My 1009 is getting better every day. I hope someday that i will be "done" with it. Though there are always pictures on this site that will further the disease. Now i want a turret and that has been added to the list.
welcome to the site... there is a metric crap ton of useful information on here. All questions can be answered. I drive my CUCV into midtown manhattan every 2 weeks. just keep in mind that they are VERY large to be zipping around in the city. Also they cost more to park.
As for Cold...
ha mine started doing it today... it's not the parking break lever in my case. I don't have the energy to check it out so i went to cabella's and got some ear plugs. :cookoo:
