    Issues with SF-97

Will we be notified when our SF97s are sent for title processing? I have five SF97s in the queue for title and two SF97s to be provided as is. Thanks, Johnny

October is Hurricane Relief MV Recognition Thread

When Hurricane Harvey was coming onshore, I contacted Waller County officials offering the use of three HMMWVs (I kept two for my use in case the need arose). Within an hour or so, first responders from the Pattison Area Volunteer Fire Department arrived and left with two M-1038 and one M998...

Jumped into the deep end of the pool and added a LMTV to the fleet - Need advice

That is the answer I was hoping to hear, but after my posting and then reading coachgeo's post, I think I will go ahead make the trip to at least check her out and get a heads up on what is going to be dropped in my driveway the following week. I'll make the call when I see the damage in person...

Jumped into the deep end of the pool and added a LMTV to the fleet - Need advice

Thanks. I will plan on going up ahead of time and removing the shafts. The lazy part of me was hoping that someone would say don't bother, but I knew better. Yes, GovPlanet did indicate the brakes were caged, but carrying a couple of extra would probably be a good idea.

Jumped into the deep end of the pool and added a LMTV to the fleet - Need advice

I bought a "DLA" M1078 that I assumed had been moved around with a forklift due to the noted "bent drive shafts". Also assuming that, although "DLA" stands for Defense Logistics Agency, its use in an inspection report indicates it had been designated as a donor parts vehicle, but batteries are...

not a bad hmmwv roll cage idea

I am looking forward to seeing what the HMMWV that is the subject of this thread brings on the auction block. Wish I could be more specific, but I don't want to get in trouble and get sent to the principal's office.

not a bad hmmwv roll cage idea

Thanks Alphaseventwo for the post. Even though mine are stock and will likely remain that way, I enjoyed seeing what they are actually capable of because, while mine are currently just intended for convoying to the range with my friends, it is nice to know what to expect if it ever becomes...

Rear Hub Mounting Bracket - What is this used for?

Thanks simp5782! I guess I was never using the correct words or phrases during my searches. Guess I need to read the "Field Manual".

Rear Hub Mounting Bracket - What is this used for?

NSN 5340-01-163-4773 Part # 12338324 I have been hesitant to ask because I am sure once it is pointed out, it will seem obvious and I will wonder how I overlooked its function. Is it used for helping to extract from a mired/stuck situation? I have not had any luck while searching the forum...

What have you done to your HMMWV today/lately

Hello Apex02, I recognized your HMMWV right-a-way. I am the guy who came in to town and bought your cargo cover. Your ride is looking great.

ADDICTED ... Careful how ya bid...

I have reviewed hundreds of M998 listings with that NSN number and that is the first M998 I have seen with "$34,735" listed as the cost each. I would be interested in hearing as well. What are the GP item listing numbers?

    WWII Fairchild PT-19

Here Guyfang. It finally let me load the pic. However, probably any aircraft painted yellow with a student in it was considered a peril.

    WWII Fairchild PT-19

The Naval Aircraft Factory N3N was the aircraft that the term "Yellow Peril" was associated with. I was going to post an image of one, but the "insert image" function is not working at the moment.

    WWII Fairchild PT-19

Waller County Aviation Museum took possession of a collection of early 1940s Fairchild PT-19 parts today. This picture is just one of 5 loads. Still have a couple of tractor trailer loads remaining to move the fuselages. I have also included a picture of what they look like assembled. Anybody...

What have you done to your HMMWV today/lately

LOL. The helmet top seems to be the most comfortable, but so far, I seem to be partial to the 4 man soft top and the "stake side" 2 man (I removed the bows & cover). I haven't been able to choose a favorite yet. However, I did enjoy looking for "loose change" in the two troop carriers. Found...

    B-17 Flying Fortress

I volunteer with the Collings Foundation when their Wings of Freedom Tour is close to my home airport. Here is a picture of me taken in the radio room of the B-17 with the roof open and a picture of me flying in the P-51 to an airshow in Victoria TX. Taking off from Houston Executive, Stu gave...

What have you done to your HMMWV today/lately

Received my Pioneer Tool set that I purchased on eBay. Now to see if brackets and hardware kits are available so I don't have to spend time fabricating and/or re-inventing the wheel.

Yeah. I ended up buying one for my wife as well. So far, three for me and one for her.
