Finally got the turbo-saver valve out. Took it over to a machine shop buddy and between the two of us, I was able to hold the corroded screw in place with a couple of standard screwdrivers while he unscrewed the valve body on the other end.
So far, only other trouble I've run into is the...
Wish I'd known before I bought the kits. I'll keep those in mind as a last resort, though, thanks. Going to try to ez-out the screw on the turbo saver valve.
You did good. Friend of mine in a deuce was in a head on collision with a pickup. Flipped the deuce and a half over, landed on the cab, and killed his passengers (two kids).
Granted, more energy as it was A: combined speed from two vehicles approaching eachother and B: heavier object hitting...
Hm. Any thoughts? Here's how the screw head on the valve disc end of the turbo-saver valve looks. Pretty corroded.
Is there any reason I shouldn't try to drill it and use an easy out on a very long extension? Is there some other method that might be better?
Good writeup silverstate55...
But I'm stuck trying to pull the turbo-saver valve. I cannot get a 1/4 hex to grab anything on the screw. It won't go into anything. I've tried all the fractional and metric sizes up and down from there. Nothing works.
At this point, I'm considering drastic...
Just had a thought... the ABS has wheel speed sensors right? I wonder if that could be used as a vehicle speed signal for the Rostra or other electronic cruise?
That's the kit I used to add cruise control to my M1009. I think at least one or two other members here have done it. It was easy peasy on that, because you could plug a vehicle speed sensor kit directly in line with the speedometer cable. Essentially like a speedo cable extension, but with...
csm davis... which direction did you go into houston from? Friend of mine northeast of Houston (dayton/liberty area) wants to buy one of mine. But I'm looking at the traffic and weather wherever I can... and I think I would just hit roadblocks right about the time I reached houston from 59...
Yep. I still don't have AC in my 1009.
I'm not sure what else you have going on Mark, but is there anything local that would make pushing it back to the first or second week of November a bad idea? The weather wasn't bad in late October, but it was still a bit hot during the day on the...
If you haven't run your deuce in a year or more, remember to take the cover off the IP/throttle thingy and make sure the lever moves freely. If it doesn't, take it apart and clean it with pro-shot copper solvent.
In my experience, this is one of the biggest showstoppers of deuces that haven't...
My deuce and a half doesn't have CTIS. The under dash fitting is just a convenient source of compressed air. The regulator on that is just to regulate the pressure to a max of 50 psi.
On my deuce, I just installed a regulator set to 50 psi and QD fitting on the under dash air port. That way I can just stick the air hose on to the tire and walk away.
That's what I'll probably do on my 923a2. The CTIS just doesn't seem all that convenient for what it would probably take to...
