Possible injection pump issues? Or other fuel issue?

I picked up an old forest service M35A2 at auction a little while ago. MkCoen was kind enough to help me tow it back to a friend's house nearby. So I went to go work on it this weekend. Made sure the engine wasn't locked up and it had fluids. Bled the lines to the fuel filters, then to...

    My favorite tires DISCONTINUED!

I've been using General Grabber AT2 for about 14k miles (since I got the truck). Mostly city and highway driving. A little bit of off-road and mud. Did great in mud, especially for an all-terrain. Did great in some of the wash-out silt along the river road in Big Bend.

    stuck solenoid, yet again...

Update: It was the solenoid. Dropped starter, replaced solenoid, put starter back on truck. All better now. Started and stopped it 6 times, no problem. Replaced it with a solenoid from *I think* Texas Industrial Electric out of san antonio. Orange rubber boot on it. I say I think...

CME Arma an "original" starter? Thoughts on good quality starter solenoids?

Yep. GR bracket is on it currently. I have a DD bracket in my box o' stuff somewhere.

CME Arma an "original" starter? Thoughts on good quality starter solenoids?

Thanks, I wanna say that's who I got my spare solenoid from that I just installed on my DBelectrical starter. I think it was from an outfit in San Antonio, anyways. It came with an orange rubber boot. Hopefully this one will last a bit longer. I hate pulling and reinstalling starters. UGH.

CME Arma an "original" starter? Thoughts on good quality starter solenoids?

CME Arma an "original" starter? Thoughts on good quality starter solenoids? So I bought my M1009 out of a GSA auction in San Antonio a few years ago. It had nothing major wrong with it, but it had a dead starter. A 28MT with a red cme arma badge on it. And it's a dead, dead starter. Even...

    stuck solenoid, yet again...

Well, it's not the starter. I went ahead and did the no load test with some batteries. Applied 24V to "M" terminal and the motor spun up. Ok, so far so good. Applied 12V to "S" and the bendix operated ok, good. Applied 12V to both "S" and "B" (the actual no load test) and the motor spun...

    stuck solenoid, yet again...

You know, one of those giant whole house air conditioning contactors might be a good overkill substitute for the DH under dash relay. Those things are meant to handle alot of current and a ton of cycles over the course of 15 or 20 years. Way more than you'd ever use it in an automotive...

    stuck solenoid, yet again...

Checked all the connections, everything was torqued down, battery terminals clean, batteries charged. No dice. Pulled starter. Going to go lift weights now... though I guess I don't have to do much after wrestling with that **** starter. I'm getting to be a pro at starter removal. I'll...

    stuck solenoid, yet again...

Will give it a try. I hope it's that simple. When you say "the starter clicked" do you mean the starter or the under dash relay? Because with mine, the starter does not click. I get the noise from the under dash relay operating, but no sound from the starter itself. Which to me sounds...

    stuck solenoid, yet again...

I did a DH relay mod. The under dash relay isn't the problem (I don't think). The coil is operating and I'm pretty sure the other two legs are passing current (lights dim a little, seatbelt buzzer changes pitch). The solenoid attached to the actual starter motor isn't moving.

    stuck solenoid, yet again...

This one is a DBelectrical, bought off Amazon. I think it was $110 or something?

    stuck solenoid, yet again...

I may pay a professional shop up in San Antonio to rebuild my original starter just so I have a known good spare. But this one shouldn't be having any serious issues, yet. It's only got 13k miles on it... Yep, I like the switch idea. I actually got a battery isolator for my 923a2, just...

    stuck solenoid, yet again...

Good point. I'm considering a battery disconnect switch in the cab, just in case.

    stuck solenoid, yet again...

Anyone else have this much trouble with starter solenoids? Truck had a dead starter when I got it at auction with 92k mi on the odo. Put an aftermarket starter on it. 6k miles later, stuck solenoid. Pulled starter, pulled solenoid and sure enough, some burned spots on the copper...

Lexus vs M931 bobtailed, got rear ended

Yeah, it's all that stuff you can't see that might be damaged that I would be worried about. Like DH said, maybe the insurance company will let you buy it back as a parts truck.

    Working on the M1078 LMTV

I can come up that Friday evening, then drive your LMTV up there Saturday. It's been awhile since I did the Austin vet's day parade. As far as a cruise control goes, you've seen the dash switch I use on my cucv. It's hardly noticeable and it required NO permanent modification. I didn't so...
