Yes. The nostalgia air kit is the brackets I was looking at that Napoleon Tanerite used.
For the money, I'm not really impressed with the look of the components in the NAP kit. But I would be happy to copy their brackets, tho!
sweetk30: I'm, not sure what compressor to run. I'm thinking...
I'm going to try to make some A/C compressor brackets to add air conditioning to my 1009. The only pics I've been able to find of the brackets are from Napoleon Tanerite's build a few years ago and the pictures aren't very clear on a few details.
Could you have air pockets in the radiator? I seem to faintly recall something from an old click and clack show about having to run the engine with the radiator cap off for awhile anytime you replaced the radiator or flushed it.
The goat would GREATLY benefit from a spin on oil filter adapter. Does someone make one?
I would imagine someone somewhere has them available, if this engine was used in a bunch of stuff like people tell me it was.
Otherwise, I think making one wouldn't be too terribly difficult. I think I...
It is possible to fix them. No guarantees on staying fixed.
I had one that was acting like that, where the arm would go to one side and stay there. If I recall correctly, I took it off the truck, and ran compressed air through it in both directions with tool oil. Dunno what that did...
I'd be interested in a 3D model. I've considered doing one, but I'm not that experienced in 3D modeling. I did a pretty good NDT tire model, tho.
Mostly, I want one so I can tilt and rotate the model in any direction, then use the Make2d command in my program to make vector line drawings...
I was telling a friend of mine about this truck and engine and he seemed to think it was a fairly common engine, used in alot of industrial stuff. Is that true?
Thanks Dave, I will definitely take you up on the template. Sending a pm now. eta: Saw where Tom might let his bracket go. If he wants to sell me his pretty cheap, I'll just go with that, and then use it as a template to make a second one for my buddy's truck.
M35Tom, it's a good idea. I...
I wish I had an A3!
I've got a couple of A2s so your solution for the compressor bracket intrigued me. It looks easy enough to do. In fact, I was thinking I'd do the first one by hand, so I can fit it properly, then draw it in cad and have a guy I know with a 4kW laser cutter make a couple of...
I hope not. It is possible, being an aluminum head and how hot it got.
There is a method for straightening heads, tho. I think they measure them, then bolt them to a flat piece of steel with shims at various spots depending on how it's warped, then bake it in an oven. That's supposed to...
