I found some pictures of the new tires before and after. You will also notice the stack is higher as I put in a Dynomax bullet muffler and put the stock guard right over it.
Mike's wheels are awesome! So easy to put together, really difficult to lift off the ground!
I'll get some more...
Fredo, I'll take some picturs and post them.
I just got the SF-97 today, took it to the SoS and got my title. They will be sending me the title in the next 10 days or so. The lady was looking in all kinds of books and tried to title it as a "stake truck"; I wouldn't let her do that. I...
get a deuce and get super single 46" tires, then your truck will go 65mph; but H1's are cool too. Get whichever you want and then post pictures on here.
Just get it, she might think you are crazy...but that is ok she is just your gf! My wife said she would never ride with me, but she has and she wants to put a "hello kitty" sticker on it, I said as long as it is a small one.
Both my recoveries have been fine and easy, Mike at Ft. Indiantown Gap is a great guy and Roger in Indianapolis is pretty straightforward and gets down to business fast.
We checked all fluids, were allowed to slave cable jump the trucks, and air up tires off the glad hand of the truck...at...
Well, I might borrow it. I just found that my SF97 is apparently at the PO as I got a little card saying to go there and sign for something from GL, so I might have my truck plated by then. I wish I would have noticed it yesterday! Now I have to wait until Monday.
Mike, you have a plate on your m1009 already? I'm still waiting on my SF97, but I just got a 1952 plate from my uncle today for the truck. He swapped me for a 1976 school bus plate! I got the better end of the deal.
I'll give you a call, and I was probably going to ask to borrow your...
It all depends on the location, ask the GL rep when you are setting up your appointment what you are allowed to do. Remember it is your truck, I can't believe anyone would say that you couldn't air up your own tires! At my recoveries I had to air up a tire and use a slave cable to jump the...
Larry, I'm sure they will let you start the trucks...but I can probably only go there Wednesday! I am working on acquiring a cable right now. If it is the old style I'm guessing that is what most of these trucks will be.
My dad said something about bringing 2 batteries along too, but that would take forever...just buy or borrow a slave cable and drive your truck down. I will probably bring my truck, except I'm a little nervous since I do not have the license plate yet. Still waiting on the title.
I figured they would all have dead batt's, I only saw one lotted truck with a winch (in the pics). Well, if I drive my deuce down I'll need to borrow a slave cable to jump start some trucks. I have it narrowed down to about 20 trucks to really look over. Maybe I'll be able to borrow a cable...
I guess I am waiting to find buried treasure in the backyard so that I can get one, along with an m870 trailer and then all the necessary licensing, titling, and insurance! I'll need at least $20,000!
I said "probably", what I meant was there might be $5000 worth of repairs to get it totally right. That is about the cheapest I have seen one go, and it was almost in my price range to go ahead and jump on it. I just figured to get it totally roadworthy you'd have to invest a few thousand, let...
3 went yesterday in OH for $6000 something $5150 and $16,500 for the brand new looking one. If I had the money $5000 ain't bad, but it would probably take another $5000 to get it right.
zak, 83 trucks...lot's 00-82. My dad and I should be going, just waiting on a call back from the GL rep.
Now my dad wants a truck, he really wants a van box (m109a3), and we saw some in the pictures...but nothing was lotted.
We are trying to get an appointment for Wednesday morning, and we...
streamline, every post 1990 vehicle I've owned I wouldn't hesitate to drive 550 miles on the same day of purchasing, or else I wouldn't have bought it. With the m35a2 I was nervous about it, thats why I brought my dad (a mechanic) and lots of tools with me. The biggest thing was getting it off...
For my recovery I drove the truck about 550 miles and it cost about $150 in fuel, so I guess I got somewhere close to 10 miles per gallon, but the tank was full when I got the truck, so maybe a little less.
Well, yesterday morning a friend from church brought over his torch. He heated up the sticky budd caps and I got them all loose. The one with the broken end he had to get very hot and even nipped a little chunk out of it and I was able to put my pipe wrench on it with a short cheater pipe and...
OF- I believe there are 2 kinds of slave cables, but an adapter can be purchased to make it work. My deuce has the older 2 prong style and I believe the new style is single pronged.
Yesterday I finally got all the stuck budd caps off and put on the 46" tires, I took it for a test drive...it...
