Kastein, the truck is not necessarily an "enemy combatant", but it is hostile! When she heard that there is a possibility to make $$ renting it out for movies she got a little happier.
Like BillyBobbed just said, to run umo it must be multi-fuel. Some guys run it through a centerfuge while others, like myself pre-filter it. I have fuel filters and bases that I picked up from Tractor Supply that are plumbed to a barrel pump which is in a 55 gal drum of umo.
As far as the...
What options do you want? Do you want one with a winch, heater, hardtop, and cargo cover already on the truck?
Let me know what you want and I will help you locate one, plus this whole community can help you. I know where there are some on the private market too.
13Mike and I just went to Indy and picked up a 5 ton wrecker, all it needed was a jump start and he drove it back. We took a lot of tools, oil, all the recommended stuff and all we needed was the slave cable.
Then I went to PA and took oil, tools; but I do not have a slave cable. I talked...
The GL auction service has lots of bad things that can happen, but the only fees that you will pay are a 10% auction fee (10% of the sale price) and then like $60 or something for an SF97 which is what you will need to get a title. You also might have to pay state sales tax, but you'd have to...
If you live near a place that has deuces it is easy to get one from GL and much cheaper (hopefully) than a private sale. If you go the GL way a deuce with winch will run anywhere from $2000-$3000 and one without from $1000-2000, unless you want an a3. Private sales the prices are all over the...
None for sale, I had to sell like 12 or something.
I am not out and about yet in the truck as I am waiting on the title from GL and a license plate...also waiting to get my super single tires on it. There are several guys from around the area that have these. There is an event in Flint in...
I called around to find these parts. My favorite auto parts store, autozone (b/c of their rewards program) did not have them. Called O'Reilly's and they had them. I have not had time to put it all together yet though.
When asking for parts at these stores, Napa, Carquest, whatever; they all...
Welcome hotfam1!, I'd think that you would want the hemtt wheel centers cut out sort of precise and I'm not sure how one would do that with a plasma cutter or torch...with that being said, I don't have lots of experience working with steel like that.
I just torqued mine down with probably 50-60 pounds of pressure at the end of an 8' bar and my o-rings have held up just great. Although, it might have been more than 50-60 pounds, but I'm sure they are over the specificed 450 pounds.
FF, I do not plan on tightening up the lug nuts with some high torque impact wrench, I just need to get the things broke loose! So far no luck, I got a guy bringing me a torch to heat things up though.
Could one even drive this truck without a CDL? What if the person has no intention of doing anything commercial with them, would you still have to have a CDL?
I'm guessing yes, but just thought I'd ask.
Which torque multiplier do you use? I know they are very expensive. Northern Tool and Equipment has one for about $250 though, but it is a no name brand...Harbor Freight sells the same brand on their website only for $199.
I am ordering the parts to do this mod right now, from fleetfilter you should be able to get the filter base and 2 filters for just over $50 shipped.
This seems like an excellent upgrade for the truck. I will probably do just like Bill W did and not even bother cutting off the top of the old...
I'd love a m920 too, but wife is freaking out about the m35a2! Don't know what she'd do if I pulled into the yard with a m920.
I am tracking them and checking on prices, even if it is just for fun. Maybe my wife will making millions in Mary Kay and she'll just buy me one to be nice.
