What did you do with wire 566?
From my research, wire 568 is the excite wire, and wire 566 is the starter engagement with engine running prevention.

I usually jump on the cavitation-damaged liner bandwagon before oil coolers. I know we have all seen some of the crazy stuff people put in wet liner'd engine cooling systems.

They're built a little better and service a little easier, in my opinion. The ones Suprman has are about the same price as a rebuilt kit for the Pure Air Plus that is standard on the M939 series.
Both my M816 and EC's XM813 have mechanical oil pressure gauges. They both have the copper line that runs from the gauge all the way to the lower left side of the block. No senders present.
However, one is a 1970 and the other is January of 1971. The other two M809s I've seen have had...
The gauge is one of those that has an oil line directly from the block to the gauge, sans sending unit. You're right, you can run them with no electronic controls, I have seen it done several times myself, just never had to do it.

Those were the only pieces in the oil. No other parts of a race, or anything else. I'm glad we caught it now, instead of on the road.
