Try this thread: http://www.steelsoldiers.com/showthread.php?t=27479&highlight=registration It's rather long and starts out much like this one, but the facts get settled in the end. The short version is, yes, you can get a Deuce in CA, I picked mine up last Thursday. Yellobronc is right...

    GVWR question

I'm registering it as a historical vehicle here in CA, so don't have to pay weight fees. I will be moving to ID in a few years, so I guess I should do some research about ID weight fees/historical vehicles before I submit the SF97. The whole 2 1/2 ton thing threw me off.

    Recovery of first Deuce

I didn't realize the "C" meant dropside only, until you pointed that out. I double checked the specs, and sure enough, no "C". Thanks wsucougarx. New to MVs, so have lots to learn.

    GVWR question

Probably a dumb question, but what are you guys claiming as the GVWR for the SF97 and Vehicle Registration? I have a M35A2C w/winch, so that is 13, 530 unladen weight 5,000 lbs capacity off-road. 10,000 lbs capacity on road. I would say the correct GVWR is 23,530 lbs, but is there any...

    Recovery of first Deuce

Thanks guys. The speedo doesn't work, but it has 1470 hours. It has a few minor warts, like the speedo, but all in all, it's in great shape. I suspect that it was refurbished not too long ago, as even the paint in supprisingly good shape, I'm just going to do some touch-up on everything except...

    Recovery of first Deuce

I recovered my first Deuce last Thursday. Luckily, I had done some research here first. This is a great site! I took all the suggested items with me, and they all were needed. I knew that the batteries were dead, so I took two Interstate Workaholic 6TLs, which turned out to be exactly the...
