Hello guys, I was finally able to have my IP removed for a rebuild. Now rebuilder says that the rebuild will cost a lot more as the counterweights are stuck for sitting too long without working. Can anyone please confirm if this is correct ? Thank you!

Hello guys, I have found some Braden winches from a M911 HET , they are 45k rated Braden hydraulic winches , from a quick look seems that the hydro motor can be removed to convert them for PTO...Anyone familiar with these winches ?Are they any faster than the older regular Garwood drag winches...

This sounds good , but the brake drum is cast iron and I do not know if the sleeve is doable ? These things are almost impossible to find !!!

Hello guys, I have six 45k rear winches for rebuild ,all the brake drums are badly pitted , I have clean one on a lathe but I have to remove at least 2mm from it to have a nice smooth surface.The wear limit is very tight on these (from 5.503" to 5.497")...So can I still use them ? Thank you!

The pullers used to remove brake drum : At the left is 683/130 that was damaged (threads on puller body) from excessive pressure , worth to mention is that this puller has remove easily two brake drums from 45k winches in the past and also from 20k and 10k winches... At the right is 683/250 the...

Update ! I have to fabricate a simple puller to be able to pull the drum off the shaft point is to have it centered to the shaft during removal (pictures will follow), good thing it that the shaft is not damaged only rusted ! And about the brake that was stuck solid to the worm shaft , Kroil ...
