So my ABS light is staying on now. It was never having this issue until a few months back. When I power up , the solenoids (front and rear) would cycle and the ABS light would shut off perfectly. Then a few months ago , same thing , except the light would come back on. It would continue to stay...
I've done this , and regret it . It's a lot of work. You can roll on dry days , but any humidity get in the air and your sand grit will clump. I use a grinder with a waffle pad ( use a respirator) . Just wipe clean with acetone , prime with Rustoleum Rust Resistant primer , and you'll move...
Yeah , Felix was on the run today. I got there around 1:10 , hooked up and got outside the gate so they could catch up. I've brought one back 330 miles before but 2,900 miles is more than an adventure. I hope things stay rolling well . Post some pics
I'll be coming in early afternoon , as it looks now. Felix didn't find my RELEASE , which you must have. I asked him about this pickup and he didn't know anything about it. They are turning people away that don't have an appointment set and a Item Release form. I will be calling him in the...
You're in good hands with assistance from Bikeman and ABN173. As I am picking up a trailer off this event , it'd be great to meet up . You realize this is a 2,900 mile trip in a 5ton 6X6 offroad MV ? Asphalt is not it's favorite friend , as it goes where no roads are . In the best of health ...
I would service the differentials before the trip out. I know of one SS that had a front axel snap 6 miles out. Other SS members have talked about this to me about mine, so it stays on my radar.
NDT sold me a desperately needed part for my M1078. It arrived today Priority Mail. I can't express how important it was , but now I can pass inspection and pursue restoring this truck proudly. NDT and WEHRING definitely lead this forum. I hope I get to return the favor and be a member that...
I'm 54 miles away , and picking up a trailer ( within 8 business days). I don't reccomend a trip like that in a 5ton 6X6 coming out of surplus. I see the truck , and Felix is good with his assessments. I'd low boy this rig home.
you shouldn't be worried , you bought a surplused military truck. Attack everything with optimism. You might not know the answers, but you'll find them , and the resources are here
