That was my initial thoughts, but with a starting price of 20k that's a big pill to swallow. I would love one. I just don't have that kind of money to spend at once. Over time, perhaps.
So I have been tossing around the idea of upgrading the drive line of my M998. What I have really been considering is if it good to just update the drive line to the 4l80e or jump in full blast and convert it over to a A2 series.
I realize that if you go to an A2 from a A0 truck that its far...
Hello all,
I have been looking through the 24P manual #1 on figure 267 about armor that mounts inside the body at the footwells and cowl sides. The manual is listing many part numbers for the same items. I'm curious as to why that is?
for example item #19 is the front footwell armor but it...
I had a similar issue with GL. I won a lot of 5 hmmwv tires on 24 bolt rims. 2 of the tires had sidewall blowouts. one of those was not a blowout but rather a fork lift sized gash in the sidewall. The photos looked great, the problem was they put the 2 bad ones on the top of the stack and...
No it does not. I just need it to be 208 3 phase and 5-10kw at 60 hz.
I can wire the shelter to it just like the original generator wired in. using L0, L1, L2, L3, GRD
I am in need of a 5 or 10kw generator in the Southeastern NC/Northeastern SC area.
I need to test out a piece of equipment by pluging a 208 3 phase 60hz generator into it.
What I am checking out is a S-788 shortened Command post shelter made to go into the bed of a hmmwv. The original...
Heres a little update.
I changed out the tires and rims on the M105 trailer frame to lower the stance and make it wider to help prevent rollovers.
I have also been busy in the interior removing racks and desk tables and even a 100 lb safe.
Here is the route I decided to take.
M1061 bolster trailer rims with hmmwv tires mounted on them.
It gives me a wider and lower stance which should help with the top heavy issue I was worried about.
No TM's other than the 14P manual. I'm more or less winging it.
I bought this primarily as a test generator to see if everything is in fact OK in the shelter.
I really have no use of a 3 phase generator beyond that.
I have zero experience with a mep-017a. This is my first purchase of one.
I know I'm getting fuel because I flooded the carb. I let it sit for a day and then tried again with a few shots of starting fluid. and nothing, just flooded the carb again. SO I'm thinking I'm not getting fire.
Based on...
So I have been prepping the MEP-017a to fire it up for the first time in 3 years, my first time since buying it as well.
I did a little load calculation for everything though.
The environmental control unit (ECU) is 3 phase 120/208 at 3.9kw. This works out to 13.5 amps.
The MEP-017a will...
I've seen a photo of this done. It really should be the same width as the deuce, I would think. Just measure the distance between the 105 wheels and the rear duals on a deuce. the you'll know for sure.
As for me, I have opted to go with rims from a M1061 trailer and mount hmmwv tires on those...
Those are some awesome looking setups!
I just bought 2 M1061 rims on epay. I will be getting a set of goodyear MT tires for a hmmwv and mounting them on the rims. I will have plenty of photos when I get this done.
Also check out the build thread (and electrical issues I have encountered) in the...
