I nned to remove several layers of paint from a data plate... I know the plate is acid etched with a stamped number. Anyway to remove the excess paint w/o destroying the plate?
I have found several references to the use of m170's by the marines as a 6 man personnel carrier, but I have been unable to find any pics or descriptions of how they were marked/equipped. does anyone recall how they were outfitted?
Found a deal I coudn't refuse and bought a M170 ambulance yesterday. In need of lots of tlc, but hey... it came with a free cj5!
It is missing data plates, so I have no idea of year etc.
My winch lever is too close to my grill for my liking. It actually grazes the 8 on my bridgeplate when the winch is engaged.

Today I finally got around to installing the marker lights on my pipeline bed. I varied from "stock" by using red in place of the two blackout lights on the rear, and amber (wired into the turn signal circuits on the sides).

I am starting to work through the process of adding a rear winch to my deuce and would like to hear some ideas on how to make it all work.
The good news is that I have a deuce, a braden hydraulic winch with motor & controls, and the transfer case PTO.
The bad news is that I do not have the pump...
I need to tear into my IP to see why I am leaking from where the lines go into the top (it may also be putting fuel into the crankcase). Can anyone point me to a tm that has an exploded diagram of the pump and/or torque specs for when I start putting it back together? Got any tips or tricks...

I am leaking oil on the front of my ldt465C. As best I can tell it appears to be coming from the tach sender/adapter. Has anyone else encoutered this? The last time I drove it it put out enough oil to get on the belts and spray the bottom of the hood. DOn't know if it makes a difference...
