I gotta admit, I have been waiting for a long time for someone else to ask this question, since I didn't want to sound goofy, thank Stoney! And thanks again, Doghead and Warthog, you guys rule!
I wish I had the knowlege and ability to perform glass work & metal work this would be a great project for the winter. I do though have a buddy who is great at both, plus I have access to a mint rear cap for a blazer.
It may be one of those things.........if you build it, people will buy...
I didn't change the pic. Never caught the close up until it was pointed out, sorry. My son found this using Bing and typed in cucv......still looks awsome
Sorry guys, I found the web site where the pic was posted and the caption reads "photoshop idea"
But what a good idea it is!
Do the Doghead converision and stay with the 24V system! I had a similar issue and all it ended up to be was a bad
battery cable and connectors. Relplaced all batt. cables and the connectors from NAPA and Whala! she lived again, boy was I happy.
Wouldn't you know it, I have to work the weekend again. As soon as the parts from LMC arrive, my work will start, rockers
and a few other places for metel work getting rerady for winter, then new paint with any luck. I may have to take you up on the spring paint job

I told my wife if I could get it for 1500 I'd get rid of my 1009. She got abit scared, but when the clock started running out of time the bids went nuts. I didnt even get to push the bid now button.
Look's great ! You should have told me you were doing a slide show, that way I would have been looking every day for it since I stopped by. I really liked the before pics and the restoration pic's. Again good job!
Nice rig you got there! I put the rear sliders in mine as well, got a set at the junk yard for $35. What tires do you have? Everything looks great.
I believe everything has a price, especially if the person has the cash in hand. My wife would give my truck away if they knocked on the door and said "hey, you have my truck"
That's why I always take the dog for a ride, she thinks its her's and would bite anyone who tried to take her ride...
I have an 86' m1009 and I luv it! Drive it more than my 03' pick up and better mpg. I had a small starting issue at first, but I was able to do the work required my self thanks to ALL THE FINE FOLKS on this site, and the only thing I knew about electrical was, "up is on & down is off"
