Brian, welcome to the world of forums. You should have seen the flak I got when I asked about brush guards on my new-to-me Deuce. Buried between the guys just wanting to push the "search and you will find it" agenda (which I had already tried), or the "look in the TM" (which I had already...
Call Newark Electronics at 800-463-9275. Give them your part number and ask if they can recommend the mating connector. I think it will be the MS3126 series but am not positive. In any event, they can help find it. They do have a minimum order of $25 and this connector should be at least that...
I actually got to drive mine Friday for the first time since I've owned it. It's spending the weekend at a Military Vehicle show. Today I get to drive it for the second time.
Just a quick question I've not been able to answer. Does anyone know why the Deuce clutch has so little friction surface? I noticed the replacement pictured has double the friction pad area but looks like it has the ability to have additional pads. I'm used to clutches that have a full friction...
Good looking engine. I kind of like the two-tone look. Obviously, you've put a lot of work into it. The bad thing is now you've given me some ideas....
Thanks for the info! I was going to do a power train swap so I could use it as a daily driver with restored body. However, if it's that rare, it would be a shame to modify it. So.... game plan change. If I do manage to snag it, it will be a restoration instead.
Thanks again for the help. Does...
I searched and didn't find anything so here goes... I might have a line on a WC-14 that is fairly complete and really in pretty good shape. Does anyone have a reasonable guess on its value or whether or not one is all that rare? No. I don't have pictures yet. Sorry. I'm asking because I'm an...
Ok, I have to brag a little. That B-25J is one that my guys and I wired for the CAF here in Arizona. Still need to get my ride in it, though. We're doing another one right now for the CAF in Camarillo, CA. Both are great groups to work with.:D
I've never understood why some people want to "stir the pot" like some here do. Must be the anonymity of the web....
I concur with your comment about the mods. I have enough trouble keeping my wife happy. I can't imagine trying to do it with a forum the size of this one.
Note: Spacing...
I can't tell for sure from my brief search, but it does look very similar to a 220vac to 24vdc power supply used to power up aircraft in a hangar. Looks like it 's missing the power cable to the aircraft ground power plug-in.
If the safety wire is done properly, it will stop the bolts from backing out (which is why it's done on ships and aircraft). It won't work if done improperly, nor will it fix bad threads or stripped bolts. A company called Aircraft Spruce is one place where you can buy MS bolts with safety wire...
This is what I was suggesting as an alternative: Hobbs switch - TheFind Note that these are for an example only. The reasons my truck will be converted is that these are very commonly available and the right version is adjustable. In addition, mine will be doing double duty so the original...
There is also switch we use on aircraft made by Hobbs. It's used to sense oil pressure, air pressure, fuel pressure, depending upon the model. It may not be a direct replacement but works fine. It's the style I will use on my rebuild for the air pressure alarm. If you're interested I'll find the...
My wife and I were talking about this just the other day. Our MVD people are sometimes quite useless because they can be. However, here we have private MVD providers that are actually running a business and providing a service. They actually DO try to solve problems versus the the state MVD...
Hi Carnac,
Donation pending.... wife handles the finances (!) We will be making regular donations to them from this point on. It's very cool that you've asked for them to be the recipients of your efforts to help the rest of us.
The truck is a 69 Kaiser Jeep.

To Dataplates.net: I can't speak for everyone else, obviously, but I do have some experience with getting data plates made by various sources with varying degrees of success. As has been said before, "It ain't easy." Note that I've bookmarked your company and will be using you as my Deuce comes...
Should have said run a wire from #2 on the pyrometer to a good ground. You should get something to light. It may be, on that particular unit, that the little light indicator is where you attach the dash light wire for external dimming for the backlight, if it has one. I'm assuming that is an...
