Give him 60 bucks and tell him to file for the title. That will get him to do it without a loss of money to him, just a little time. DO NOT buy it until he does that.
Hagerty collector car insurance. Got my 5 ton, along with two jeeps, and a WC-51 for 530 a year. They are great to work with so far and have been good to me. The jeeps and WC are my dads MV's. We told them our situation and that I'm 20 years old. They were more than helpful and seemed to...
Added some troop seats and a rope, along with some other things. The troop seats took some modification to get the front rack in, and there were a couple chunks of wood we couldn't get out of the sides. But all in all, today was a good day.
A murder is a murder. That's a crime. What kind of crime is being committed for the government using non taxed fuel? It's their fuel and they own it. Now that I think about it... I bought the truck and paid taxes for it. So technically I paid taxes for the fuel that they gave me in that tank...
I asked that same question on like the 3rd or 4th page. I'm curious about this, but it doesn't seem like anyone has a good answer from experience. I'm just going to keep running the truck on normal diesel. The truth is the truth, and that's all I can claim. I bought it from the government, which...
Huh, that's interesting. I mean I can understand either way when talking about the government.
I can't see why a DOT officer would trouble me greatly about it. I don't have dyed fuel in the tank so there's no reason for them to check the filters... but ya never know. Seeing as I don't even...
I bought my 5 ton from GL. Does anyone know what the military runs through them? I assume it's not dyed cause why would the military dye it anyway? But lets say they have been running my truck on red diesel and I get pulled over, they pull my filters and see they are red... Now I'm screwed for...
I'm all about keeping the truck as original as possible. A small generator fits perfectly right on top of the toolbox on the right side of the truck. I'm going to make a mount that fits into the bed sockets for the AC unit. Simple and easy way to get AC for parades and stuff, without drastically...
Just get a window unit AC for a normal house or something. Get a generator and you have AC. Plus you keep the truck original and you can easily take it off.
I had my air switch out on my 5 ton when I bought it. I tested the voltage just like you and i couldn't get a proper reading. I think maybe my ground was not sufficient. Another SS member told me to get a wire and hook the two wires leading into the switch together. Just make sure you have...
I don't see why people bob trucks. I understand they look pretty cool and are probably more practical to drive around town. But it totally kills the value of the truck. Keep it original.
I figured it was quite a drive. I'm 19 and I bought it haha. I was looking for a deuce like you. I figured I would want a 5 ton eventually anyway, so I just got that to start with. I'm happy I did, the size is mind boggling. I love it.
I'm in Warrensburg for school. Not too far from KC. My truck is back in STL though. There's a veterans thing going on at forest park this weekend in STL. There will be quite a few MV's there, along with my buddy's tank and my 5 ton. You are more than welcome to show up if you want to drive 4...
