It is a lot louder without the top. We drive our WWII jeeps and WC around, rarely putting a top on them. More like never put tops on them. It seems like I never see the bigger trucks without a top. But it looks like more of you don't than I expected.

If your gauges don't flip up then your box is shot. I heard my box click even though it was not working right.

It's a solenoid that gets stuck. I have heard of people replacing the solenoid. I am not sure which one to use. But I would like to replace my old one.

Can you just short out the solenoid? Seems like that would get rid of the problems all together.

Some things I might add as well. My ABS light started turning on every time I drove the truck. Then my PCB box was acting up, so I replaced it. Now my ABS light no longer comes on... weird. Do your gauges not flip over when you turn the main power on as well?

PCB box. Protective Control Box located on the firewall, left side to the driver. Right behind the ether can. You can smack it with a hammer while someone else starts the truck. It is the solenoid inside that box that is bad... usually.

It is not a "Demil MV truck". That scares people when you tell them that. It is a personal truck that you are not making money with. It is a truck. The military doesn't have any purpose to state. It is a odd looking 5 ton truck. It says truck on my title, so that is all the DMV needs to know...

If you are just looking for some touch up paint. I have found that Rustoleum and Krylon camo colors match pretty well. Again, this is just for some spots you need to hit if you don't feel like ordering paint online. Jeff

I drove my 5 ton home from Jeff with no tags. Also has your EUC cleared yet? If it's your first one you may be looking at a month wait anyway.

I don't even bother with the search function on this forum, or on any forum for that matter haha. I never like how they are setup. I just go to google and type what I want, then put "steel soldiers" behind it. Works great. Welcome!
