Looks like a auxiliary Heat/AC unit for a civvie Hummer. It's not a HMMWV part.
Let me know if your interested in selling. I don't NEED one, but....
Cheers,
Clarke
I was looking at a M35A2 for sale today - wife walked by and said "i want one", so for the first time I started looking them over. It seems well maintained, no leaks, had a coolant based heater, hard cab, no top, and I'm told power steering. No winch. Spare tire, good tread on the other wheels...
You might wait a bit and see what pops up on eBay or other MV sites - someone just bought a whole truckload of the latest high-back HMMWV seats on GL. They are likely to start surfacing soon at considerably cheaper prices than Kascar.
Cheers,
Clarke
If you don't use the serpentine setup you HAVE to change the water pump - they are reverse rotation over the belt setup. Basically your looking at all new accessories and mounting for belt vs. serpentine. I'd stick with the serpentine - it's a better system and a higher flow water pump - it's...
Sorry for the delay - forgot I had asked questions and I didn't check back.
White smoke is either coolant in the piston's, or unburned fuel. If the smoke continue more than a few minutes then there is some kind of problem. Unburned fuel can be from an injection pump, inject, bad glow plug /...
You might be getting a bit ahead of yourself. Some questions: You say it smokes - how much, when and what color? How much have you driven it? Have you changed the fuel filter? Have you put new diesel in?
Did you get a title? If so, what's the serial number? HMMWV's don't have VIN's. If you look...
It's not a Turbo Diesel - that's a Normally Aspirated intake. Looks like the 6.5NA re-power engine - with the updates for the A2.
Should be good - but not a turbo.
Regards,
Clarke
I have yet to see one of these - that "release" is over a year old. I wonder if they are using them in the ECV2 with the Caterpiller electronics to add some icing to the ECV2 cake?
To build them for HMMWV's, they would need the military to sign off on the change in design. Sounds like some nice...
Correct.
AMG owns GEP - General Engine Products.
http://www.amgeneral.com/vehicles/gep/
There were some issues with the GM design, and the center mount turbo on the Hummer around heat and the number 8 cylinder. That's been pretty much sorted with an update to the block casting in 2000. They...
GM sold the 6.5 engine and plant to AM General. AM General runs and operations GEP _ General Engine Product who manufacture the 6.5 and 6.5TD engines for the military contracts. The GEP engines have an upgraded block, NA or TD power, and on the latest revision under consideration for the ECV2...
Re: RE: help on pricing
No brakes - at least in the front. The Diff and half-shafts are missing and since the brakes are off the diff and between the halfshafts - no brakes.
I've had a similar setup without wheels and geared hubs up for sale for a while now - $1300. No bites.
The rails are...
Looks like the ECV2 prototype that AMG showed at Hummer Home Coming in 2006. The Expanded (Extended?) Capacity Variant 2 HMMWV had a whole bunch of modifications that we are just now starting to see move into production:
On-Board Diagnostics/Built-in-Test
Enhanced load carrying capacity
22.5"...
RE: five point nuts
P.S. the "early" wheels with the Penta nut sockets are probably the lower GVWR parts without the centering hole. As long as you aren't loading up tons of armor they will be fine. Dave also sell the necessary o-rings you need.
Cheers,
Clarke
RE: five point nuts
Aboonsky,
the penta-nuts were a "brilliant" invention to keep the troops from disassembling the two-piece wheels when there are air-inside them which could cause injury as they are under considerable pressure. If you want my recommendation, I'd get rid of the penta-nuts and...
