    Adding A/C and powersteering

Air assist power steering--already available in a fairly easy to install kit. 2000.00 give or take as mentioned. Does help alot according to the threads I have read about it, but not as nice of PS as hydraulic. Hydraulic---If done properly could really make a deuce steer nice and easy...

    A feeble woman writes...

Hi Maam, Thanks for stopping by and discribing your trucks problem to the SS community. There is alot of good mechanics around here and someone might be able to help you out. Its going to be hard though, not being able to inspect and test different components. I would not "dismantle the whole...

    Best CB To Purchase

Here is a link to some CB antenna basics that I found with a google search. Jeep Horizons :: CB Antenna Basics This is a great hobby in itself. Do some googling on it and learn the science behind it. Not trying to be an a-hole here but it is way better to base your antenna choice on the...

Looking for parts list and advice for rebuilding the brakes

Unknown factors- are your wheel cylinder bores free of rust pits? if not, the kits won't hold for long. Master cyl condition. ect. For your rebuild tho I think ya better bring along a couple of new wheel cylinders in case you need em. Or just do it at home and order them only if you need em.

    Brake help

I do agree that it sounds like the airpack not doing its thang. If it does need rebuilding, I also would suggest going the rest of the way and redoing the wheel cyls and master cyl. Why not , these trucks are 40+ years old and most of them would benefit from it if it hasn't been done for a long...

    Battery post melt down

Thanks Stampy but the 2 products are quite different. dielectric grease is non conductive . The stuff I was talking about is a conductive anti-oxident used in residential wiring mostly. Where aluminum wire is in contact with other metals.

    Battery post melt down

Bjorn, if you dont mind my asking. What would your take be on using a "noalox" type product on battery terminals in general ? I know its not really designed for that application, but it is conductive and grease like.

    Battery post melt down

Drilling and tapping it for a replacement post sounds like a good idea. I would screw that new studded post in with nolox or oxguard on the threads. At least some grease. Probably milk the remainder of the life out of the battery. I have exploded a battery in a motorcycle frame before while heat...

    Best CB To Purchase

For a deuce with hardtop or a cucv, I want to recommend a high end magnet mount right in the middle of the roof. Something like a K-40 or Wilson product. As good of a ground plane as you can get and simpler to set and keep working. The difference of performance between one of these and a 102"...

    drilling brake drums

I think there is a few well placed holes. I know when I had a leaking wheel seal that the oil escaped from those holes and didn't get on the shoes. I thought that was pretty cool.

    drilling brake drums

I would continue drying them out like you do. Ride em a little and there dry. The possibilities of doing more harm then good are there. I googled this and that was their general opinion on some other forums too.
