I got this trailer awhile back because the sides drop as well as the tailgate. It was pointed out to me that it would be a good candidate for a dump trailer. Curious if anyone has ever seen another like it. It had explosive markings on every side.
Does anyone have these on their CUCV pickup. I was thinking that 1100x 20 michilins would be a good tire if you could get 8 lug wheels. Recentered deuce wheels? I would think anything is possible if you have the money, but I'm looking for something economical. Thanks for any ideas.
There is a video where a bystander took pictures of the chase. It looks to me like a M1009, but I'm not sure. It said the vehicle was a 1984 dodge. Take a look. Lincoln City Shooting Suspect Still on the Loose | KEZI
I would like to know the optimum temp range for the th400. I know heat is bad for them but is too cold also a concern? I put a big cooler in front of my radiator and wondered if I should cover some of it when I plan on driving in temps below freezing. I also thought possibly MPG could be...
Getting AC in a M1009 is complicated and expensive, but I was wondering if anyone was thinking of using the rear unit out of a suburban? You wouldn't get the max cooling, but it might be ok.
I thought I'd relate my experience. I have read alot of other posts on the subject lately because I wanted to do some hauling. I flat towed a M1009 with another M1009 a few years back with a bad experience. No wreck but white knuckles, and I would recommend against that.
I have a heavy duty car...
I want to install a brake controller on my M1009. I have a 6 pin plug already on the truck when I got it. I put the military plug back on it and plug in the receptacle I want to use. What I'm curious about is what are the wires colored green and brown with a white stripe used for in the military...
I pulled the fuel pump off because it was leaking, unfortunately it wasn't the hose. It is a very tight place to work. I can't see the pushrod. I left that alone. It looks like the replacement pump can be bolted back in place without concern about the pushrod according to the TM. but wanted to...
I found this out while testing my trans cooler. The injector doesn't leak at idle but does at full throttle. I checked the return lines and tightened the main line connection without any success. I found the leak immediately after a hard run. It stops when idling so I cant see where its coming...
I'll be looking at a 2wd 700r4 for sale. It is in a 91 1500 6.2 the engine is bad. Will the 2wd 700r4 be a good swap into a m1009? Does anyone know what the spline count is on this trans. Can the tailshaft housing be changed? Will I need to look for a different TC? My daughter fried her turbo...
Has anyone used an AC radiator as a trans cooler? It would be a really large cooler. Can you cool too much? If one of these was used should it be turned off in winter or when your not towing? How much pressure does the transmission pump thru the stock cooler lines? I saw that the lines are a...
Are the M1008 and M1031 drivelines the same length? I know they have different transfer cases. I would guess that the u-joints are the same.
Are there any civilian vehicles that have the same length of driveshaft even if the u-joints are different?
Thanks
How do you guys install the injection pump pipes to the injection pump. I don't see an easy way to tell if they are in the correct position since the bottom pipes on the IP can't be tightened after the pump is installed. Do you install those bottom pipes to the IP loose, then install the IP, get...
What tools came with the M1031? Does anyone have a picture of a truck with everything it should have in the back? I'd like a picture so I can see where it all went. Did they come with a tow bar, and slave cable also? Thanks
Was 1968 the last year for the multi fuel in the 5 tonners? I'm trying to figure out the correct year for the SF97. O5d-24768 9623-12268 is the serial number.
Thanks
Has anyone installed one on their M1031? It would mean a hole in the roof and I'm thinking the floor would take some re-inforcement, but it would be the perfect maintenance rig. What are the dimensions of the shop body?
I'm trying to figure out how my wheel bearings got rusty. It looks like maybe condensation. Anyone else experience this? Both bearings have light rust all the way around. The rubber part of the seal looks ok, but the metal is pitted/rusty. I think I'll have to leave the old seal in since I can't...
I took the bolts out of the front drive flange but it won't come off. I didn't think it was necessary for the wheel to come off, am I wrong? I read that you can put the front drive flange on one rear axle for economy, among other reasons. Is that a de-splined front or is it that the rear axle...
