I'm trying to understand this system better. I read through the TM. I have a truck with the resistor bypassed. It would seem that bypassing the big resistor would be a good idea, but thats another thread. What turns the wait light off? It wants to stay on with the truck running. If the module...
One of my trucks has this disconnected. I have searched and found out that bypassing puts more load on one of the batterys and disables or limits slave starting. I also understand how important it is to keep all your glow plugs working or you will see your voltage rise as each one fails, killing...
I have almost gotten gas twice here recently. As I'm typing this I just realized most of the country pumps your own but here in Oregon that is against the law. An attendant must do the pumping. Sometimes I think they are brain dead from the fumes all day:cookoo:
What is involved if this does...
My ignition switch is giving me grief. It sticks coming out of lock like I have the wrong key but if I wiggle/jiggle it will turn on eventually and then turn to start with no sticking. Anyone have had this problem, it seems to be getting worse. Could it be the lock cylinder or the locking pin...
It was mentioned in another thread that the 350 chev manual bell housing has some differences from a 6.2 4spd manual bell housing. Can the 350 sb bell housing be used with a 6.2 and if so what does it take?
It was also mentioned somewhere that some 6.2 L engines did not have their crank...
I have read too many tire threads trying to get info, I don't know what to think.
I bought some 16" 6 lug steel wheels and I have 1100 xzl tires. Will the 6.2 blow the 10 bolt rear end with freeway use? I see that 35" tires are what many think is the limit but I will only use this M1009 for...
I hope nobody minds me asking, but I need help from someone working on a base that has a Regent model 9310-010 portable crane. There are safety cables that attach from the mast to the boom. I need to know how long they are. They look like 3/8 cable about 5' long. There are 2 of them. Regent...
Has anyone used military speakers to install a am/fm radio. I'm thinking of the small square od design. Seen some forsale. Just considering the cool looking factor not for the quality sound. I would think that connecting to the radio would be a concern. Anybody done it?
Hello,
Anybody here have one of these small manual cranes or work with one? I'm in need on measurements of the safety cable that attaches to the mast and boom. I really need the length of those cables.
Typically they are used on aircraft so an airforce base is a good bet to find it. I would...
Since CUCV's wear out alternators twice as fast as your normal, regular, every day run of the mill vehicle that has one alt and one battery, I want to rebuild my own. I pulled one apart that had the gen 2 light flashing because of a bad bearing. The armature was starting to rub the field. Napa...
It feels like it is engaged in low and high at the same time. The drive lines are disconnected. I thought I would take the linkage loose next, to see if that would unbind it. I was thinking about starting the engine and putting the trans in gear, D & R but fear that might damage the trans. I...
Hello,
Looking for a manual for this generator, but really need the electronic/electrical schematic, because the board is bad. I really need to fix this thing.
Thanks
My M1008 rattles like dry marbles in a tin can on acceleration. Let off the throttle at any speed or idle and its quiet or at least the rattle isn't there. This does not sound like my M1009. I haven't run the truck much at all probably only 200 miles, I have changed the oil so I know its fresh...
What is the advantage of gear drive? Does it put less strain on the starter bolts? Do they run faster? or require less amps?
I have seen no shim starters and starters that don't say one way or another. How can you tell if you need the shim or not?
I also read some people are afraid of the gear...
Not for a restoration but what do you use as a economical preservative for the wood deck on your car hauler or equipment trailer? The oak planks on my trailer are looking weathered and I would like them to last a few more years.
Thanks
