HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA
I bet some of them techs wondered what that (diesel) smell was.
You should hear the whining in our shop when we bring a diesel
truck inside. I bring mine in sometimes just to stink it up.
We have a Ford diesel with a plow they park inside, it's nowhere
near as...
I have replaced the plastic sleeves (missing) on my M1008 and also on an 81
C20 I had with a chunk of 1/2 PEX water line from your favorite hardware
store. Makes a huge difference. I'm going to get a bushing kit for the hinge
pins to finish the job.
Wally World, the super tech brand, says
TCW-3 or TWC-3 outboard motor oil.
I'm just telling you what I've learned here,
please correct me when I'm wrong
I'm using a blend of Diesel Kleen and 2 stroke oil too.
Pretty heavy on the Kleen for now, I'm not taking any chances
on gelled fuel. The 2 stroke oil is recommended by several
people I trust. Old Number 13 seems ok with it.
Papabear, I agree with you.
Negative on the mystery meat, Squirrel on a stick sounds like
a redneck feast!
I knew I should have waited to check in on this thread. But I
have never been known for my sense of timing.:shrugs:
Well you guys talked me into it. Findlay is pretty close
to me, but I didn't know they had a show. Sounds like
fun, and a good chance to meet people from here.
Wow good luck there. I bought my M1008 without those switches and
{NOTHING}
worked. I would swap in a new switch. 10 minute job, including
fetching a beer. I bet you could get one here easy.
I'm going to butt in here. I've worked on lots of stuff, from cars to tractors, bobcats
to motorcycles, civics to grain trucks. I don't believe that CUCV's are much different
from 1970's farm tractors, once you understand the basics, and read a couple of
TM's for the particulars, they're pretty...
So that means it could actually be LOUDER under the hood than it is now?
Is that possible? I kind of wanted to put a stereo in it to have music when
I'm working around the barnyard with the engine off, but I don't know if
I could hear music going down the road as it is.
Warning accepted. I will be certain not to make THAT mistake.
But an M880 in the barnyard would not offend me at all. Those
old critters are pretty tough.
Really??? They don't have an acc position??? I never tried to find it
but I never thought of it not having one. Kind of like the turn signals always
work, key in the truck or in your pocket. Are there other little secrets we need to
know???? Like don't feed them after midnight?
Guess a...
Delivered 10 sandbags on a pallet to a co-worker today. His F250 (04?) looked like
it wanted a helper spring. He said the 1008 moved up 1-2 inches when I picked up
the pallet with the forklift. Pretty similar GVWR, the F250 dropped 4-5 inches.
I assured him his was much faster, being a V-10...
Is that something new?
I almost always use Soldier B, then follow up with a power
bleeder. I have had issues with power bleeders in the past.
They are great for getting rid of old nasty fluid though. And
for bleeding out fuel filters.
