You're talking about fuel mileage with 30 year old extreme duty equipment. I'm getting 11-14 mpg with my M1008, depending on the load, trailer, etc. My diesel guy has a newer 7.3 Ford and gets 9-10 no matter what. I hope he doesn't sabotage my injector pump when he rebuilds it.

Check your p/s pump and bracket. Mine was loose and was so loud at idle you couldn't hear yourself think if you were in front of it. It had 1 nut missing on the bracket and 1 bolt holding the pump to the bracket. After the repair, she's so quiet you can actually be under the hood while it's...

You will love that cupro-nickel (spelling?) brake line. Cuts and flares like copper. You can make very nice bends using only your hands. I replaced a couple of the 3/16 lines on the rear. I would get a coil of 1/4 and a 3/16. For the fuel line, you could use 5/16 rubber line, that's what I'm...

Antennaclimber sells NEW glow plug cards. Just get one, you won't regret it. Mine works flawlessly, and its not 30 years old. Besides, he employs veterans. What's not to like? Plus, there's a hot start option with his card.

M1008, 285/75/16 tires. Usually 55 but I have a short stretch of 4 lane highway I go 65, maybe a mile. It seems to run right along nicely. If I have a load or pulling the trailer (M101A3) it's just 55. Heavy loads are 45 max, I only have to make it there. Doesn't matter when.

That Go Light mount might be a good place for a Go Pro camera, also to be removed when crashing through the brush!
