Hahahahaha
I understand now!
If Pennsylvania doesn't like the truck,
I'll find it a home in Ohio. I got plenty of
people here who would like a nice truck.
Guys, my M1008 has the plate on the cab, says M1008.
It also has the helper springs on the rear. I thought
all 1 tons had helpers.
No helper springs means it's a 3/4 ton where I come from.
I bought a 10k gvw truck from my uncle years ago, a GMC
Sierra 35 (1975 vintage) that had springs that...
Check the return fitting in the top of the pump, mine had
similar symptoms. It was plugged pretty good. Compressed
air and brake cleaner are your friends
Good point. Thank you Sir.
But you never know what the good people at the Fire
Department fixed when they had the truck. I should
check mine out and see what it looks like.
That being said, I need to cut some wires out of mine
as soon as it warms up out there.
Mine was pretty noisy at idle, but as soon as it was off idle it was (quiet?)
(not as loud?) After closer inspection, there were 2 loose bolts in the
power steering pump bracket. Fixed quickly. All better. Then the pump
itself fell off the bracket, 1 bolt broke off, 2 were missing entirely.
It...
I have a pair of 5 ton shackles on my M1008, they look and fit nice.
Bought them from the classifieds here. Faster, cheaper, and easier
than a fabrication. Someone might have some at the Findlay meet,
Maybe????
My 2 cents here. While the batteries were unhooked, I would remove
that thing and all wires connected or hooked to it. I have seen
things like this before, and I wouldn't trust anything wired into
that, whatever it is. Do yourself a favor, make that go away.
If you want an outlet for a...
Charged both batteries, fired up like a champ.
We have had 2 months of cold and crappy here.
After idling for 45 minutes I drove it around in the
country for 20 minutes. Almost forgot how enjoyable
it is to drive the old thing.
SgtDave, I see the window is rolled down, is the old girl making
so much heat you're trying to melt the snow as well as move it?
Also, you have a Kubelwagen? I would love to see pics of THAT
please!
I have one of antennaclimber's cards and I have to say
that you can't go wrong. Supporting one of our members
who employs veterans? I hope that's a no brainer
I talked my auto insurance agent and his brother into picking
mine up and delivering it to my work. It cost me $60 in fuel
and lunch at Bob Evans ($50?).
Maybe 180 mile round trip. Popped a brake line loading the
M1008 on the trailer. Probably the best money I ever spent.
Don't let me...
Welcome! If you messed with Humvees then (so I'm told) cucv's
should be easy. The tech I work next to says he preferred the leftover
cucv's to the humvees they had where he was stationed.
I know NOTHING about humvees, except I drove an H1 twice.
It was fun. It wanted me to squish things...
Well at least if you've had old British cars you should
be familiar with swapping out electrical components
[thumbzup]
Oops guess I waited too long to post THAT
