SIGINT TO WIN IT.
These provide excellent height advantage, and tons of tie points for guying, if need be.
I miss the good ol' days where S250s were $300 and could be found everywhere.
Shows Ultra vs Marquee
Trucks below are done in 4300 - M1031 had about 4 years on the paint, and the M1010 had close to 7 years, when the pics were taken. The second pic is the same M1010 in the first pic, but many years later.
4300 is ultra flat, and about the same texture as CARC.
I found...
Exactly. The replacement bolt also seemed to 'grab' a bit better as well. It's possible whoever tightened it stripped a little of both, and the new bolt with new threads helps. I still didn't trust it by itself, which is why I put a nylok on it.
God I love the TMs.
Pull up Part # with NSN.

As usual, things don't go as planned.
Getting the pan back up went pretty easy. Putting the dipstick tube back on? Holy crap. That was an exercise.
Went to go do the final tightening of the pan, and realized one of the bolts just spins in the hole... It's stripped... I'm guessing that was...
Dropped $$$ on Transynd.
Got it in, ordered trans filter, O-rings, etc.
Gather up materials...
Crawl under the truck....notice a bit of a light oily film on the trans pan, indicating a small leak somewhere.
Pull drain plug. Looks like they put dex3 in there but didn't complete the switchover...
So, this brings up another question.
I went to go replace the trans filter (spin on) and noticed there are 3 different versions. One is for oil, the other 2 are 'low pressure hydraulic - transmission'.
It would seem to me that the original filter may be designed differently and require higher...
For ease of supply, I'd like all wheels/tires to be the same. Also, I'd prefer to use the wheels that I have, unless I can move to beadlockers for not that much more money, but I have a suspicion that beadlockers for 22.5 or 24.5 are gonna be $$$$
G177 is too much of a road tire for me. Yes, I...
Marquee is not ultra flat, and seems to scuff easier. I've had zero issues with 180-220 grit over everything, then spraying 4300. No adhesion promoter or anything.
The ONLY spot on any of my trucks that is flaking, is the door sill, which is a high wear area since I'm constantly stepping on it...
Gonna be used as a 'daily', however mostly dispersed camping (tiny home on wheels).
I expect to camp somewhere for a week or two then drive 100-300 miles and repeat the process. Could be as little as 20 miles or as far as 2K miles... just whatever suits my fancy. I just want to clarify this is...
Most are rated per pair. Commercial jack stands are rated ea.
Here's what I have for my deuce. They should work with the 5 ton as well. 12K lbs ea

Invest in an air/hydraulic jack if you don't have one. Make sure you have a glad hand adapter. If you don't have the money for a Milwaukee (or your preferred brand) high torque battery powered impact, get a high torque air impact that'll run off the same air line.
Work smarter, not harder.
