Also, First Call sent me the wrong filter for a transfer tank and it got me thinking. Has anyone considered installing a filter between the aux tank and the genset? I got to looking and it wouldn't cost much at all to do. Amazon has the Wix 24770 filter base for $30 which will mate to a Wix...
Yea I don't know what was up with that. They've ALWAYS had them in stock every time I went and then suddenly there were none to be had. I did find a whole pallet of them the last time I went, but the whole pallet was on hold for someone. Something I must have missed lol
Ahh that looks good! I'd have jumped on that one! I actually found out last night my tank is a 35 gallon. But still plenty for my 802a with as few outages as we get here. I still have a 55 gallon drum in the garage and a 100 gallon transfer tank in the truck if I need more. I like how you...
Was just documenting what I did in my particular case to give others ideas who may be wanting to add a tank to their unit. Your idea is great too, I was just trying to accomplish it with minimal modification to the tank/lines and no modification to the genset in case I never need to hook up a...
To be clear, all the TSC's and McCoy's near me within 100 miles were completely sold out of 1/2 and 3/4" stall mats for a really long time, which is why I gave the anti-fatigue mat a try. Also: it was damaged so I got it 25% off lol
My 802a is sitting on a pair of railroad ties and I bought the anti-fatigue mat from TSC. It's the rubber mat with the holes in it. I cut out the squares, which are 1'x1' and put one on each corner. It is hard enough that it did not compress and seems to work well.
They actually had those at the shop. They put two of those, the hose and brass "collars" (I don't recall the proper name) and crimped them in the hose machine. Got it made up really nice for less than two of those on Amazon.
Hey everyone, I was MIA for a while there. Had alot going on around here and just haven't had time to be on the web. I finally got some time this week to mess around with my 802a fuel setup and was able to come up with a solution.
So a local guy near me deals in scrap and vehicle dismantling...
Family moved out to Texas not long after I finished college. Told convinced me to give it a try so I moved out here about a year later. Came to west Texas for work and it's pretty much where I'm anchored now.
Check the injection timing. If the timing is off it will cause high fuel consumption. Diesels meter fuel according to RPM and load. The gov only injects the amount of fuel needed to maintain RPM under a given load. If the pump timing is off, that could affect it.
If one burns more, I would check the fuel and air system. Make sure the fuel filters are kept up with, air filters aren't plugged and all that. You may have dirty or leaky injectors on the one that uses more fuel. You could have the pump and injectors tested at a reputable injection shop. What...
There is a "generators" forum section just for this. Also the TM's might have that info as well. You'll get alot more answers posting in the generators side of the place than here. There is also a section near the top dedicated to the TM's. Should be able to download every one there is for that...
I agree with NDT as far as reliability goes. "Two is one, one is none". For simplicity and fuel conservation I would say an 806 if you need the power. If not, then two 805's would work well for you. I understand there are some quirks to the parallel system so you have to be careful when...
Nice! Take care of it, and it will take care of you, right!? I really enjoy people's stories when they get to actually get to put their units to use when the time comes!
I'm interested in setting up a group order. I can handle it if everyone wants. I imagine I would have to have all the switches shipped to one place and then ship them out to the individual buyers from there. I could use two.
