I'll be working on my truck again on Thursday the 4th (waiting on parts). I'll take a bunch of pictures then and post them to this thread with an explanation of what I did.
Thanks for stopping back to the post to comment. I also picked up an exchanger box and heater out of an A3. I'm waiting on a few constant pressure hose clamps, and then I'll be able to finish up. I didn't cut down the size of the heater box like some other SS members did. Instead, I...
Heater High/Off/Low switch wiring question
I tried to get into the school for the mechanically challenged, but they wouldn't let me in. So, I'm relatively new into the MV hobby and really appreciate your help. I've spent most of the morning reading the forum posts on installing the hot water...
Hey Deucer ~
I just saw this thread, and I am working on the exact same project. I see this is from a year ago. Did you ever finish this project?
I just flipped my air exchanger around and relocated it four inches toward the driver side. I found out that was necessary to get the heater...
High/Off/Low switch wiring
Ok, I just found the wiring schematic that Doghead posted. It looks like power is supplied from 400 coming from a circuit breaker on the engine side of the firewall. That power goes to the center post on the High/Off/Low heater switch. Then the low output of that...
Sweet! That's one less thing to worry about.
By the way, if any of the Minnesota MV owners want to meet for lunch or drinks sometime, I am game. I'm only a couple years into owning my truck, and I just got a trailer this year. It would be nice to meet other members in person.
I just saw this thread. I have a 1985 M35A2C that has collector plates on it. I brought a picture of the truck and a few pictures of the data plates into the DMV and they suggested collector plates for the one-time registration. My title says the make is "AMGR" and the model/body is "TK"...
I agree that the Iola show is great. I went this year for the 2nd time and will be back again next year. I live down in Eagan, but my truck is parked up in St. Cloud. I missed the St. Francis show, but will get there next year. I also would like to get to any MN events.
Thanks, Rory! I'll try to track a couple of those down. I've been looking at light options, and none of them are cheap!
Dan - I've noticed that you like lights!
I've been looking for a set of convoy lights, and nobody seems to have them. I see that Grote has a couple different models of rotator beacons, and I am wondering if they will work for convoy lights. Can anyone tell me the diameter of the convoy light base, and how tall each convoy light is...
There is a table in TM 9-2815-210-34-2-1 that shows a few differences between engine models. It is in section 1-17 towards the front of the book and is table 1.3. Here are a couple of scanned pages for your reference.
I'm going. It's only a couple hours from Minneapolis. If anyone in Minnesota wants me to pick something up for you and bring it back, let me know. I'll be driving my Jeep Grand Cherokee, so nothing too large.
Congratulations on your auction win. I'd like to get a 5-ton truck someday as well. Yes, you will learn a lot from this forum. I'm only two years into owning a M35A2C, and the Steel Soldiers community has been a great resource. I wish I spent a year reading this forum before I bought my truck.
