Hi again,
I am trying to reproduce what could be right for the bumper markings in my 1968 M151A2 AM General.
101-327-2 B-7
That would state as:
101st Airborne Division
327 Infantry Regiment
2 battalion
B Company
7 vehicle position within a road march
Could be that statement correct...
Thanks for the post.
So, you mean for a AM General, what it has to be on the hood is the plain VIN of the vehicle.? 2J 9100 would be correct then..? Definitely not a Ford because it has drain holes on the sides, and Ford Didn’t.
Hi guys,
just a quick question regarding the data tag numbers.
in this plate here, it shows the vehicle ID as 2J9100
do I understand this will be shown in the hood as,
02J91069 (being 69 the year of manufacture).
There is no date of delivery, Manufacture by.. nor Contract number nor any...
OK, but can anybody decipher what unit, organizativa, etc.. is that..?
And what is the individual ID.? I see HQ-# only… See the middle jeep, it has some kind of different numbers..
Thanks,
Hi guys,
trying to understand the marking in the bumpers, C’an you teach me how to read them.?
I have two friends whom own MB38 jeeps and I wonder how you read those markings, any help.?
Thanks.!
I will have that in mind and if no other choice, I will contact them. My friend (the actual owner) has templates for lettering and has stamped some in his Willys, so maybe we can also do that in the M151A2.
Thanks for the info buddy.!
Howdy.!
I am Josep from Ibiza Island, Spain.
New here and to military vehicles and close to own a M151A2 truck.
Wanted to ask you what was the correct radio for those vehicles in Viet Nam era, (circa 1970), and also if you know any source where I can get one if I finally can close the deal...
Hi guys,
just asking about the correct letter markings on the sides (below fuel neck, above the axe) of the M151 as well as for the stars in the front cowl (RH and LH) sides, what were the correct ones to reproduce them in my M151.?
Thanks again Mullany, that is also a good help..!
Since is easy to change side, I will do once I own it.
Further project will be to find the correct radio for that vehicle, it doesn’t matter operative or not. Can you tell me what was the radio used in that era.? Thanks.
Josep
Regarding the antenna, I have seen some MUTTs with it on the right side and others on the left side, where would be the correct side for that.? Or it doesn’t really matters.?
Thanks again,
Josep
Thank you very much.! I will look for that TM and download it for sure.!
Alright, i will do asap, but first I have to close the deal and then I could say is mine.! At the moment still waiting..
My pleasure.! I know there must be many knowledgeable people here so I have a lot to learn from...
