m1009 Blazer walker exhaust pipe part number???

Here you go, I've used the #22329 mufflers, they last about 4 years. Also the curved piece, ext pipe #41334. Will need a new right front exhaust one day as its so rusty it looks like it was pulled from Truk lagoon. Might try to find an OEM pipe or a clean take off as I hear they are built better.

    Noob Glow Plug Question!

I've bypassed the card and run a manual push-button. Although, apparently there's some trick to adding a resistor into the card circuit which will fool the card into running a longer burn period.

    Fuel Pump & Injector Tube

Did you already tighten the pump bolts before you tried aligning the steel line? I've done a few pump changes and never had to do what you described. I found that if you just start the threads of the bolts, do the rear most one first, its the hardest to start. There is enough movement to align...

    glow plugs recomendation

I've has great success with AC60's, about $10 ea. Used them since 2005, on my second set. Get between 4-6 years on them. They don't swell but do need a longer "burn" time, hence I have a manual glow plug system.

new starter worked only 3 times

Get a Direct drive 27MT. I got 6 years between rebuilds on mine. Another member stated ; The CUCV 27MT starter motor is a heavy-duty part, with increased strength pinion and ring gear teeth. The reason GM went to the gear reduction was cost savings and thats it. Not because they were better...

    Injector washers

Ordered a set of injection washers from a CUCV parts place for my upcoming new injector install. They are aluminum, I was under the impression that that they are supposed to be made of annealed copper. Diagram showed they are washers for injectors, part #14025557 on package is correct. Can I use...

    Epic 27MT Rebuild quest.

First let me say I'm puzzled by the lack of response to the 27MT starter bushing issues. How is it, that with so many CUCV guys here, no one has gone through this experience with bushing sizes. The TM's don't list numbers. Does no one do their own rebuilding? With all the guys here having...

    Check Valve for Lift Pump?

Glad to be of help. Found SS in 2006 after owning my M1009 for 1 1/2 years. Even thou I knew 2 CUCV mechanically inclined guys up here, this site was an invaluable source of information and quick access to knowledgeable members advice. I've got an enourmous amount of info I've gleamed from these...

M1008 Electrical Problem. Motor keeps cranking when key is off

The glow plug relay on the firewall has nothing to do with the starter circuit.

    Check Valve for Lift Pump?

Got tired of bleeding injectors. I drilled a hole hole in my cap in 2006, its still there, haven't noticed any adverse effects. Since then, I have of course replaced filter base and fuel lines which were leaking. You can also just crack the cap at the end of the day and release vacuum. Get an...

    86 M1009 Build

Another member originally posted this info, it might be this ; The big blue wire at the gp relay is not connected to anything and it is in the same bunch as the wires that go to the temp switch/relay/control card./ It does not receive anything in the M1008 or M1009 series trucks. Only used for...

1983 CUCV m1009 - what to look for

Shipping isn't too bad for small items. Here's a site in Germany that has a lot of new CUCV stuff ; http://www.us-army-military-shop.de/Chevy-Ex-Army-K5-/K30:::68.html?XTCsid=985a195b27b0ad591bce87f00bdf6c2f Some of it's a little over priced, but they have it in stock.

    Check Valve for Lift Pump?

This thread would be applicable ; http://www.steelsoldiers.com/showthread.php?99241-cold-start/page3. There already is a check valve in your lift pump. Did you test it for output? If you are stumped for a solution, I used this band aid fix until I got my new fuel filter base; drill a very small...

    cold start

No, the o-ring is on the back side of the filter base, you have to remove the entire assembly to see or access it. There is a fuel pressure sensor that is only used by the military with special testing equipment, its not needed. Sorry I dont know of a source off-hand. I replaced the entire...

    Epic 27MT Rebuild quest.

Have a request for anyone that will be disassembling their direct drive 27MT starter, or has one kicking about their shop. Could you measure the diameter of the armature shaft on the Commutater end. Reason I ask is that the new commutater end plate I installed that had a new bushing which seemed...

    New glow plugs

If you switch to AC60's, replace them all. They require more burn time than the original style plugs.

    cold start

Pappydodd..If your truck starts and then dies after 5 seconds, you have air being introduced into your fuel system somewhere. This is not a glow plug issue. There are probably hundreds of threads on this, its a common problem many have had. Most likely cause is the o-ring on the fuel pressure...

    New glow plugs

Change them as often as you change all the light bulbs in your house. Ha.... First you didn't state what Glow plugs you are running. You should be able to tell when a glow plug has gone bad. When the engine is cold and you fire up, idle will sound rough and you will notice white smoke out the...

    Broken starter bolt

You're in luck, I just bought a set of starter assembly studs off "equipmentpartssales" on ebay to have as spares. They have 10 sets left. Part #1975326, $18.00.
