I think most of the buyers of CUCV pickups don't get one to keep it military and end up tossing the bows if it came with any. I think the cover over the bed really adds to the military look that I'm after. Unfortunately they seem to be scarce.

Depends what you think is lousy highway speed and how much noise is too much. I don't have a problem with either, but I don't think of this vehicle as a touring car either. I think the M1009 blazer often gets confused with the M1008 pickup and the original poster is not clear on this either.

Are you looking at a M1008 or 1009. While related there are major differences. An S10 is of no value that I know of to either.

The CUCV is a well built, easy to work on machine. The fact that they are easy to work on also makes them easy to modify and that is where in my opinion the unreliable reputation comes from.
