Does anybody know if Gl is helping load trailers at this time. I'm picking two, but need one lifted onto my flatbed. I've used a roll back before, just trying to make plans. Thanks
I'm just thinking of something I already have here and can trash when I'm done with it. How long of a test do you need to determine everything is good to go.
Load Bank
Don't mean to hijack, BUT, could I use my old 50 gal. hot water heater as a load bank? I beleive it has two 4500 watt heaters in it. I have two mep-003's and if I test them once, is that enough. I really don't want the old tank sitting around. The name Scrapdaddy came from my wife...
load bank
Thanks, that all makes sence. I've got two mep-003's on a trailer, not quite ready to run. The house wiring is done, inter lock panel all done by electrician. I also need a 4/4 so cable about 40 feet long to reach generator. Now it looks like I better build a load bank. I'll reread...
Thanks, I did see that on the face, but it looked like it didn't come close to the adjustment screw. anyway I'll leave the other generator alone for now and see how this does. No sence in taking it apart if it's going to fog back up. The two gauges had some serious condensation in them.
volt meter
Thanks guys, my computer gave it up and just got a new one. I took one ac volt meter apart. I let it dry out, but the screw in front was not attached to anything. The connection must of broke. I did get to clean up the lens abit before closing it up. I'm going to get that one running...
Load Bank
Ok, they say the only bad question is the one not asked, so with that, what do you need a load bank for. Couldn't you just hook it up to your house. I'm guessing it's bad to test your generator out on the house? I'm getting ready to do just that, so let me know before I burn down my...
I hate to say it, But I'm looking forward to the next power outage. I've been working on the mep-003 and house wiring. Just about ready now. Thanks for posting, got to let my family read this one.
For you generator guys, I've got two mep-003 gen. and both AC volt meters are fogged. Condensation has formed inside the meters. I removed one meter and took it apart. What is the screw for in meter's face. I'm guessing to set the needle to zero? I think the water must be getting in there. I...
I'm confused! The solargizer IS a desulfater, right or wrong. If right, then I would need to wire up a battery tender also to keep them charged. I always thought my solargizer wasn't working because my batteries can go dead after sitting for long periods. The military batteries that were in my...
Well you guys got me thinking it would be good to do in the summer,so Garandfan any tips on pulling the radiator out. I read one time it is very heavy. How about flushing the block too. Belts, thermostat and gasket anything else while we're in there. Do you think you should get the valve cover...
I bought two 105's out of Ok. they both had nice tops. By the time I picked them up, you guessed it, they were torn and just plain beat up. My first experience with GL lot switching. So keep me on your list for a good one. I don't need a fast one with a racing stripe.
Just learned something! could you explain the adjustable part, sounds interesting. One other question, drifting abit, is the 101a3 the same as the 105a3 in the adjustable thing. Thanks
The lunette height is around 34 inches. If you get the seven hole adjustable pintle hitch and swing your lunette around 180 degrees, you should be close to level with your truck.
I was an oiler for Anheuser-Busch and if a gear box lost a seal and we couldn't take the time then to fix it, we would pump grease into it full and fix next shut down. On several gear boxes they forgot to fix and we stopped telling them or writing work orders so it went on for years with the...
Great looking set-up. I'm just the opposite than you. My truck came with a brand new canvas top for the bed and no trailer canvas. I even have the front and rear end canvas. Took them off to be able to see better and never used again. I do like the real canvas and not the newer vinyl tops. It's...
Thanks Jake, That's what I was looking for. I read in the Ken-Tool cat. that the bars are heat treated. Maybe I better buy some rather than make them. The picture helped alot.
