If anybody is feeling brotherly, I'd like a PM also. I just like to look mostly. Besides I only can push her so far and I need a 5 ton, maybe another trailer and there is that generator set I gotta have!
PMRamsey, is the trailer your talking about able to haul a 75 hp farm tractor. Could you build a deck over the tires. I need to build something like that to move my tractor around. Someday I'm going to keep some bees [hobby]. Thanks
Well, I personally think you guys did a great job. Any time it takes a major effort like that and it turns out good, says volumes of your abilities. Enjoy your truck!
Good job! you are going to post your rebuild progress, right. I can't remember if your using the cummins are not. I could use all the help I can get. I bought a truck with 4 wheel disc and power steering [GM] with 4.89 gears all I need to do is the diesel. I'll go back and read your thread. It's...
Man, that's already looking good. You going to sandblast the whole thing. Did you decide for sure what color[s]. If you decide to unbolt the cab shield, would take a picture of it like that, I'm thinking about removing it, when I find mine.
sounds like you did it right. I would like to be able to preview stuff before hand, but not living anywhere near a Gl site. I just try to make a choice by looking at the pictures.
The fear I have with the different tie downs is rust. any of them that you know of come in S. Steel. I guess Zinc plating will work for awhile. Any ideas, paint?
Question on the reset tag. Did you know it was rebuilt before bidding. Could you see the reset tag without previewing the gen. first. Another words, can you tell it was a rebuild without going to site and preview. Thanks
Question on the Generator trailers, I did some searching but didn't come up with anything. I want to learn about them. Are there different sizes. What would be a good set for running a house in a power failure, I'm sure this has been talked about before, any good links or search suggestions...
Are you sure it's oil coming out the tailpipe or unburned gas. Maybe crossed wires. Start over at dist. points and wires, timing, float level, etc. Maybe you'll find something easy. Good luck
Hey Zak, I thought I remembered something about the book being passed around. I never used it but thank you for offering it up. I sure hope it's not one of them on e-bay
I would of liked to have a copy just for my small collection, but I'll wait until the price comes back to Earth. It will turn up some when your not really looking for it, like your 20 dollar copy. Good hunting!
Boy was I confused. I thought they were some kind of air lockers that were just on the 5 ton axle. Would you use the detroit locker in both the rear axles? I've never heard of 5 ton lock out hubs, that would be good. It would be alot of money to get it all set up, but man what truck. Thanks
James, on your dump you talk about lockers and lock out hubs. Are there different type lockers for the 5 tons and do they make lock outs for them? I'm not enlightened on the 5 ton equipment. Sounds just like what I was thinking about next truck. Ron
