thats about right, the higher milage is achieved on interstate traffic speed, anything else your foot into ect... the truck really could use a different ratio in the final drives

I didn't mention that itwas hyd one. I thinking of the rear, just too cluttered up front and closer to tthe bussiness end of the truck..maybe the extra length of hose would eleviate the need for a cooler on the powersteering system?
I have three on my 1009 at the moment 30 micron with heating element 10 with water separtor and a 5 finial filter and with other crap to burn WMO ect.. the work well it a direct fit with sensors and heating element with the old box type save your money and buy electric pump
I hooked up a push button momentary switch as, ( precatiounary) for just this reason, if the gp system takes a dump for any reason, it is my fail safe til I can get functioning the way it should.. it only cost 7 bucks for the switch about $1.50 in wire and connectors.
Note the GP cycles on and...
I too would go with sm465, although I do have 700r4 in mine now 3.08 rearend lends itself well to 1:1 gear. overdrive with a lock up converter makes my 1009 a gutless wonder
Chrismas eve I decided to go to SW Bradley's House to pick up some 6.2 motors he was holding on for me.. It was about 100 mile one way trip for, it was first real trip I did in this truck except for .5 trip to the store.
