Yes, I meant M923 with 1100x20's. Yes you can always change the carrier. M923A1 is good too. Just don't like the 8.3 or CTIS.

need info on M923 ,Big case

I work on these trucks and personally prefer the A1 with the Cummins 250 you can always put super singles on later. The 8.3 liter Cummins is a medium duty engine. The Cummins 250 is a million mile engine and designed for hard work. CTIS is a nightmare to keep maintained and unnecessary, yes it...

    M929 Big cam 400

Nice job Steve. Glad I could help with the motor. I like the location of the oil filter, nice and easy change! What is the fuel filter set up that you have on the drivers side? Is that one that takes the air out of the fuel?

One tire wearing more than all the others and have shaking above 50MPH M923A2

That would be true if our trucks didn't have floating axles. There are no torque rods to keep the axles in line.

One tire wearing more than all the others and have shaking above 50MPH M923A2

I have a few questions. What size tires are you running. what is the condition of the wobbling tire? have to jacked up the truck to make sure the hub rims is not loose, the hubs is not loose, spun the tire on the truck to check for a bent rim?

different colored diesel and low sulfur fuel

Well My buddy and I convoyed to the Sussex NJ show together. We both needed to fill up our M923's with fuel in NY. Shortly after I noticed a Knock in my engine and a decrease in power. Not knowing much about my new truck I feared it maybe a bad injector or bad rod bearings. I figured it could...

    2 1/2 ton & 5 ton trail ride-Weare Rally weekend

I hope to have my 1600's on by then. Because we are all driving our truck, I don't think the trails will be to challenging. I just know last year obstacles that Jeeps and CUVEE had to maneuver over carefully, were just a bumps in the road for my 5 ton with NDT's.

turbo kit from eastern surplus, anyone have one?

Adding a turbo to a cummins 250 only gets you 20 hp. This is a dyno tested and documented number, because Cummins made a 270 Cummins. the 270 engine is the same as our engines but with a turbo. They made it for high altitude areas. To get more power than that you will need to add dual fuel lines...

    Death of a Multifuel

Steve throw those bolts away and buy new ones that are the same grade. There are a few bolts that you always need to replace. Exhaust manifold, turbo, and flywheel. Those over torqued bolt will run the risk of snapping. put a threaded insert in the flywheel they come with a permanent locktite, I...
