Ok, First let me qualify this by saying it's been 20+ years since I have touched one of these... So take this for what it is worth..
You're not getting power to the fuel pumps that supply fuel to the injector pump, correct..?
I think only one of those apply to the DC circuit supplying power...
I have a 101a2 that is in very good condition I have been working on.
I have replaced all the grease fittings but still have two that are clogged that I cannot grease. Both of the rear/top pins will not take grease.
Anyone have a trick to open them up without removing the pins..?
Thanks,
Andy..
I just have a few points to make..
#1. One of the first things I learned at my "A" School was "Improvise, adapt and overcome". We would follow the TM, policy, rules, whatever up to the point they stopped working and the problem could not be solved and then we would get creative...
The front ones are not that hard to tighten if they are there.
They will not turn on the inside so just get a wrench on them from underneath and tighten.
If they are missing you will need to disassemble a good part of the surge brake assembly to get to them. Start with removing the master...
Ok. I picked up two M101a2's today in Oklahoma City.
One was in very good condition, new paint, bows, etc..
Once I got it home I started looking it over. Because of this thread I noticed that two of the surge break mounting bolts were lose (One in front and one in back) and a third didn't...
Look at it this way. You found this out the best way you could and not while slamming on your brakes to keep from hitting someone.. Could have been bad.
