Talked to the supplier and the ones that are available from him for this deal are WET ONLY.
While dry might be listed as available, he doesn't have them.
Anyone interested, please let me know ASAP.
Thanks-
Don
Wet or Dry......... :?: :?: :?: :?:
Very good question. I neglected to ask  .
I supposed I ASSumed wet, but will verify availability of both tomorrow.
aua
:D :D :D
I was debating which way to go to when replacing the batteries in Shorty, so I started calling around to find if any distributors had 6TL's, new or blems, at a decent price. I found one of my industrial suppliers who sells East Penn brand (DEKA) MILSPEC batteries, who told me he can...
Bjorn-
Noise is never good. Low oil pressure is never good. Noise = damage. Also, while running at high rpm's can certainly be worse for potential rotational failures, lugging the engine at lower rpm's has it's downside also. The keep it at 1200 and it will be OK doesn't seem realistic...
Speaking from recent experience, YES the master cylinder needs to be vented. I rebuilt the airpack (was cruddy so a good idea), checked all the wheel cylinders, flushed and bled the system and the da*n brakes still did not operated properly.
Rewind to the fact that the previous owner recently...
Greg-
All the previous suggestions have validity. The coming and going lean me more toward sludge / trash. Try changing the oil and adding "Seafoam". We've tried everything at the shop over the years and have found nothing that loosens up lifters and generally cleans up the internal engine...
It really depends on if you want to spend a bunch of time (and $$$) cutting one up, or do you want to pay the $ and have something to play with now.
EVERY TIME I start down the project road, (boats, tractors, mowers, Gators, Jeeps, Rovers, Benzes, Mustangs, & stuff I choose not to remember), it...
Speaking from daily experience, we see many fewer hydraulic brake problems with customers who flush their brake fluid regularly. Brake fluid is hygroscopic (attracts moisture from the atmosphere). We recommend a full fluid flush any time the tester senses more than 3% moisture content or...
Thanks for the info. That's the only place I found the bleed it.
Your thoughts that I should be getting fluid into the air cylinder was the same thing I thought should be happening - but it's not. Very confusing.
I'm going to clean the unit, hone the unit and reassemble it. I'm then going...
10-4 on posting a fix when I figure this out. The only bleed valve that I can find on the system (other than the wheel cylinders) is on the airpack unit. No bleeder on the master itself. Seems strange - maybe I'm just blind.
Are there any exploded view diagrams anywhere of the hydraulic flow...
Very good point.
I did the M/C leakdown test as indicated by the TM and the M/C is holding pressure. When I attempted to bleed the M/C, I got out air (under pressure) and fluid without depressing the pedal. I assumed that the airpack was bypassing and just pushing out air from the compressed...
There I was, trying to park the Deuce and the brake pedal goes to the floor. Much testing and we discover the airpack is not holding pressure.
Disassembled the unit and its pretty clean. Probably can get by with a rebuild kit, but a new unit would work also. Mine is a NEWER style...
That would be a yes to the 16 x 20's. Might consider a little smaller ones - BUT, not too small :D
Rides OK, of course not perfect. Guess I'm going to have to suck it up.
Really got this beast to do shows and parades with. I have 473 other projects in the works and this one is essentially...
Thanks for the replies.
Not really looking at it as an off road truck - strange, but....
If the tires impact the sheet metal, well... then I suppose I'm gonna have to fix something.
Here's a pic of the other one - which I think I might sell.
OK, so I'm new to the forum and to MV's. Addicted immediately.
Bought a 73 AMG M35A2C, and then this 70 Kaiser/Jeep M35A2 "modified" unit. It was just too cool to pass up.
So how does that work - do I drive one and tow one? Or do I drive one 1/2 a mile, walk back and get the other one...
