In my limited (1 year or so) of driving Shorty I have not had any problems with t-case shifting and I use both ranges all the time.
With the 52's, it's almost a necessity to start out in low range 2nd gear, run through 5th, then shift to high range 4th and 5th. It's kind of a pain, but works.
You're right, not that many sell in Richmond or Va Beach area. But I did snag 2 last year in Ft. Lee / Petersburg, VA and Ft. Meade, MD for less than 1700 each.
Maybe its the threat that no more EUC items are going to be sold?
Amazing ! 2 of the Deuces that sold at Richmond today went for $4k. I went to look at them today and they would not let anyone in, even once you were on post.
I believe the secret here was that they had LDS 465 1A's in them.
Anyone here score one?
Didn't get a vehicle
I didn't get a vehicle but I did snag a pallet that has a complete NOS Air-O-Matic steering kit for a deuce in the box.
Now I suppose I have a reason to keep another one of the Deuces? Still need to get the one that Scrounger hauled out of Ft. Meade for me. Hmmmm.
That's why I love this site - lots of good answers. Didn't know there was a circuit breaker in the switch - didn't recognize it when it was disassembled.
I did try a search on this site and didn't come up with an answer - probably entered the wrong query? Many thanks to all who replied...
I seem to be having an intermittent issue with my lights. Found this while driving home from a Lions Club meeting a few weeks ago. Was right next to the Courthouse/Jail in Fairfax (yes, city police in view) when my lights just go out and yes, it's dark out.
After uttering the appropriate...

24v to 12v converters
I've got a source that I can get converters that operate on 24v to 48v input and put out 12v constant at a maximum of 25 amps. Very heavy duty with a good size heat sync.
I've used them on several 36v and 48v projects over the last several years and have had no failures...
I have now seen the light on the oil viscosity issue
I called Exxon/Mobil corporate commercial tech line and discussed this whole MV gear oil / trans fluid thing until :deadhorse:
He's apparently had to answer this question multiple times from many sources. Mobil's testing has...
OK, I'm confused :? . Why would you want to use 75/140 in the cold? I just went out to the shop and checked both a bottle of 80/90 and 75/140 and the 75/140 is definitely thicker. Last time I checked,in the cold use thinner and in the hot use thicker.
What am I missing here :?:
I...
Thanks for the reply and the PM's.
Yes, the big kids will be able to play on the NG coptors - after the little kids. Yes, if you stay till after dark you can participate in the bonfire, open bar and karaoke gathering.
Still need some more volunteers......
I'm involved in an organization who puts on a camp for deaf & hard of hearing kids in Jamestown, VA. It draws about 250 people, about 50/50 kids and adults.

Thanks for all the info. If anyone can find/provide procedures/pics of the droop adjustment that would be great. Fuel system is supposed to be PM'd tomorrow to make sure all is good. Will also check fuel pressure at tank and after filters. Plan to add a good dose of BG 44K for diesels to get...
sorry to be ignorant but what is droop adj? Also, 5 psi of what at the manifold? Manifold pressure, fuel pressure?
Thanks for the help. Also glad to see I'm not the only one with the won't idle at first issue.
