Thanks for the info so far.
The filters were just changed and the fuel is fresh diesel. It appears to have consistent power through the rpm range, though not what the other truck has. Doesn't really blow any smoke whatsoever. The low idle at start up is troublesome and certainly could be...
I just got done driving both my '66 M35A2 and Shorty the Bobbed Deuce (1970 M35a2) and I noticed a very different response from the throttle pedal between the two of them. Just to make this clear, I'm talking about throttle response when running and in neutral - no load. Shorty obviously...
Thanks for the data on the different type of lubes.
I'm sure some of us will stick to the old school, old lube technology that lasts as long as it lasts, might cost a little less money and was engineered when slide rules were cutting edge technology and cars lasted 40k miles if you got lucky...
The answer is.. sort of.
Scrounger (Andrew) was gracious enough to take his 5 ton up to Ft. Meade and tow it back to his place in So. MD. Both he and I have been tied up over the last several weekends, so it's keeping his fleet company till we get time.
I still have another one in the way...
Thanks guys!
I have no idea on lights - first thought is "don't need no stinkin lights", second thought is "a chase vehicle very close behind". Haven't found anyone w/lights.
I'm trying to get the pinhead at GL to confirm a time. They say immediately and then won't commit. It's got to be...
OK, need to try again.
Anyone local to DC that has a tow bar and/or a truck to tow with in the next 2 weeks? I can drive down to Richmond and borrow Builder77's (Ethan's) tow bar, but don't have a functional tow vehicle. More than willing to pay expenses.
Ft. Meade, MD to Chantilly, VA...
Bjorn-
A couple of us were having that exact conversation about my "deuce" yesterday... Once bobbed, what is it?
Is it a:
deuce minus a half
deuce
ace and a half
deuce minus three quarters
something else?
Let the speculation begin.

I also had trouble with the search function for multiple words but think I figured it out. Say you want to search for axle nut, you would type axle AND nut (without the quotation marks). You need to insert the word AND in capitals between the words in the phrase.
I've either enlightened some...
Thanks to all who have responded. [thumbzup] [thumbzup]
Seems that using a tow bar (borrowed from someone unless there's one for sale) makes the most sense. Chain towing around the DC Beltway will be like getting the "Go Straight to Jail" card. Driving it back with the risk of breakdown...
Well, I surely wasn't expecting to get the invoice yet from GL on a recent Deuce win at Ft. Meade, MD - but there it was today! Only 8 business days for the EUC approval?
I planned on going on vacation then worrying about this Deuce sometime next month, oh well :?
The truck runs...
Thanks for all the references. Found 2 #45 kits at the NAPA regional warehouse today. This was a today problem, unfortunately. For future reference I'm going to continue research as there's got to be a cross reference to a locally available part.

Sold the '73 M35A2C today and found a leaky wheel cylinder.
Local parts stores don't have the NAPA p/n 45 rebuild kit, does anyone have the p/n for the whole cylinder? Checked the old threads with no luck.
HELP! PLEASE?
Thanks-
Don
I've been in the undercoating, rustproofing, paint sealant, etc business for 20+ years now and removing undercoating is on of the biggest pains in the ^*$% we have to deal with.
There is no easy way. You remove the bulk of it with a putty knife and heat gun. You remove the rest with many rags...
