? beg to differ with you on that 58". My M1008 is more like 54" with a NP208, both my M1031 and K30 civilian are 57 3/4" longest point to longest point on the drive shafts, this is a truck with a NP205, and BOTH have the side cover for the PTO.

Civilian K30 diesel has the same # of leaves as the M1008 and is actually rated at 9000 gvw (I have one and checked)

See if you can pick up one of these, has all the GM parts numbers.

M1008 will have a G in 4th digit of serial #, M1028 will have an H, M1031 will have a B in the 3rd digit instead of a C.

Already have swapped out trans and transfercase from the rusted out M1028 with the wrong ip. Truck looks a little better now, runs and moves under its own power. Hint: when swapping trans/transfer case, leave them bolted together, LEAVE the crossmember ON, swapped both out in less than a day...
