    1.5 kw Gen Set

I have two of these units. Does your unit have the wiring diagram on the inside lid? That will give you a map of where all the wires are supposed to go if someone decided to play electrician and rewire stuff in there like you said. I will try to get a pic to you this weekend on my unit and...

    Deuces still in use?

Well I know they are alive and well in the National Guard as far as M35s go. We don't have any LMTVs at my guard unit and i'm glad. I didn't like them at all in training at Ft. Leonard Wood. The old 5 tons still outperformed the new LMTVs down there as far as dump trucks go. I know there...

    M135 - M211 production figures

I have serial number M135 082, it was made in OCT of 1951. I'm not sure exactly how many were made, but I know production did in fact start on Sept 13 of 1951 and ceased around 1957 I belive.

    middle axle locking up

Well when I drive my M211 and I use the brakes it locks up the middle axle and then it won't release them so I just end up dragging the tires. If I reverse they will turn for about a turn or so and then lock up the other way. I jacked up the axle and spun the wheels and they turn just fine...

New arrival at an already cramped shop

Thanks. You can tell in the picture who was doing most of the work that day, ha ha. That is my dad in the pic with me. My parents think I have an "interesting" hobby, but they support me. They would rather I buy tons of OD iron than drugs or booze, lol. I'm just going to touch up the truck...

New arrival at an already cramped shop

Here is my latest buy. It's a 1952 XM-211 w/w. I bought this truck from a guy along with a parts truck. He needed the room and I had an addiction to fill, lol. I now have 4 of this series truck(other 3 in pieces), a 62 M37B1, and 2 M105s. I also might have my first M35a2c and a water...

    m35 reo carb question

What type of carb is used on the early M35 Reo gassers? I have some carb rebuild kits that are marked REO on them, but some of the gaskets seem to match perfectly up to my M211 Holley carb. I'm wondering if they used the same or similar carbs or if someone just messed up labeling. Thanks.

    Brake booster grease?

While inspecting the brake booster off my M211 I discovered that the large chamber on the brake booster was full on red grease. It also had some sand or fine dirt in there. I am curious where the sand or debris came into the booster. Has anybody ever encountered grease in their brake...

Help! Bees in my M543A2 Wrecker!

First of all this is one of the funnier problems that anyone has experienced. I would also use caulk or something to seal them inside. They will die without food after awhile and your problem solved. Otherwise keep spraying the ones on the outside with that bee killer stuff and sooner or...

    fair price for m35a2

The gunner hardtop is a hard top cab with a hole in the roof and a cover similar to that of the M548 tracked vehicles. It has spare tire with it and the heater also. Doesn't look too bad, but not sure about the miles on it. I will have to get a hour meter reading.

    fair price for m35a2

I found a guy who has a whistler M35a2, air shift transfer, winch, gunner hard top, troop racks, 70% matching tires, some light rust and is supposidly a good runner that needs nothing. The truck has around 40,000 miles on it also. I was wondering what a fair price for a truck like that is...

    What solvent to clean tires?

I used paint stripper on my tires. It bubbles the paint and as soon as it starts to soften it I use a steel brush or steel wool to scrape it off. I have water handy and then douse the areas in water to neutralize the stripper. I wipe off with a towel and thats it. My tires had white paint on...
