I don't think there was a difference in the sheet metal in the later model M37s. My second M37 was a B1 and I never noticed a difference. Most of the B1s are probably still in country.

I've got a 1968 W-200 that I've had for years. The problem with this vintage is rust. The body/frame mounts in the right-front an left-front of the front floorboard rust out and from there it's downhill. Can it be fixed? Yes, but be prepared to chase a lot of rust sins.
I wish I could find...

The chart says 18,000 pounds or more. I thought a deuce weighed inat around 13.5. My bobbed deuce weight around 10.5.

Who defines excessive and how? The term "excessive" isn't quantifiable. I'm wondering if there isn't more written somewhere.

At one time I considered building a complete intake and exhaust manifold (header) system around a later model 2 barrel carb for a 265 flathead. That stopped me was lack of knowledge about exhaust manifold design.

I just recently took one of my M37s out of winter mothballs. The 489 gears I installed last summer sure take a lot of starch out of the little 230 Chrysler Flathead. I've been planning on building a 265 Spitfire Flathead but with the price of fuel I'm having second thoughts.
I was wondering...
Thanks for all the insight guys.
I'm certain the clicking was caused by a sheared winch pin that would hanging up and intermittently causing the drive shaft to slip in the winch. Sometimes the most simple solutions are the least obvious.
The PTO was removed today. With it's removal, the...
Thanks for the insight M376x6.
The actual positioning of the winch lever boot is the same. What's different is the lever is tilted forward further than with the old style transmission therefore the little clasp that mounts to the transmission tunnel and normally holds the winch handle in...
I got around to installing a late model NOS transmission in one of my M37s (The Woogie) today.
I picked up some rollover noise that I believe to be coming from the PTO. Given the Tannsmission is NOS I can't imagine it being in anything but the PTO. I've always been under the assumption that...
I haven't yet but hope to change everything out before winter.
With the reduced cold weather drag and the price of diesel fuel I can live with a little leakage.
Thanks for the insight bottleworks --- great looking system.
I haven't had eny problems with the pump I'm using --- I's sure it's way overkill for the application it's in.

To me, simplicity is king. How many times do you have to pump your system to get pressure?
Hey bottleworks --- that is one fine looking system --- you do good work Pilgrim [thumbzup]
My system only operates on manual mode. I have to press a button to run the pump. When oil pressure is achieved I stop pushing the pump buton and push the starter button. Having to press the pump...
I wonder how many Deuces there are in Deucenburg?
Wait a minute --- maybe that was suppose to be Duesys in Duesenberg.
Never mind ... the 60s were really good to me --- I get things confused :-)
Hello,
I have a friend that has three M4 17-Ton high speed tracrtors in various stages of assembly (parts vehicles) that he would like to sell.
I'm told the M4 has the same running gear as the Sherman.
Pictures could be made available if someone voiced interest.
He also has some CCKW...

Yes --- here is a walk through: http://www.steelsoldiers.com/index.php?name=PNphpBB2&file=viewtopic&t=13265&postdays=0&postorder=asc
I seem to remember D-Man (OD Iron) making what I thought was an excellent post several months ago featuring a clutch assembly that he is offering. As in Gerhard's post, D-Man posted contrasting pictures of the two assemblies. The differences were appreciable and yet I don't recall anyone closing...
Yes --- it's a multi LDS-465-1A. They are common in 5-Tons.
They are basically the same engine as the LDT-465-D (deuce engine) except they have different oil cooled pistons, different timeing, turned up pump and "maybe" a different cam. The LDS - 1A generates 175 HP versus the duece LDT C or...
