This past week, while working on the M37 I've been driving the Deuce.
It's been cold with a couple of mornings at zero or a little below. I've been plugging in one of the 600 watt freeze plug block heaters and the 150 watt oil pan heater. With a shot of ether Rosie has been starting like it...

Yes --- I'll be running a set of 305/85-16 Denman 10-ply radials. Though they aren't available ano longer they are an excellent highway and snow tire.
My personal opinion is that tire size over 1400s is excessive. I'also have concerns about the LDT's ability to effectively turn 1600s. Going with 1400s or 395s makes life a lot simpler. By using deuce front suspension in the rear you can stay with original Deuce suspension. This is not an...
Thanks everybody. The reason I got a little paranoid is because while there is a hot rodding / modified section in the site for the deuce there is none for the M37. I'n not suggesting ther should be one --- just didn't want to push the envelope too far.
I worked on the Pumpkin again today and...
We're on day 20 of the "Pumpkin Project" and I figure we've got five more days to go. It should be motor pool ready by next Tuesday. I've been working seven days a week since the project started on 31 Oct. Tomorrow the battery box, gauges and custom cargo cover go on. The following four days...
When the weather turns cool Multis tend to run cool unless you are working them. Before I installed an enectric fan and got rid of the water pump fan I had trouble getting my deuce up to 180 even with a winterfront. There wasn't anything wrong with my thermostat.

Hay Dan Martin ... Not to hijack this thread but how are you pulling up old links?
I see they have "old" added to the link BUT ... I can't figure you how to get them out of my favorites so I can ad "old" and pull them up. When I click on SS links that I've previously files in my favorites I...
Thank you nattieleather but the shop isn't mine --- don't I wish it was.
The owner is a good friend and I get very reasonable usage rates.
I made a 100 mile round trip run to Hibbing MN in my old crew cab this weekend to get some more paint and I like to froze my rear end off. The crew cab...
Hello,
We've been putting in some long days on the Pumpkin Project. Some nights when I get home I'm too tired to wiggle let alone post therfore I'm playing catch up today. Hopefully I'll get this post and attachments right with the new site and all.
From a time standpoint the detail work is...
If they are going out immediately upon installation it is no doubt something haywire electrically.
having said this, if your motor is idling too low the vibration will drastically reduce the life of your headlights.
This past Friday I finally got around to turning down the droop screw setting on the LDS engine in my bobbed deuce. The allen plug that gives access to the droop screw had been Permatexed and was a bugger to get out.
Previously, I had turned down the main fuel setting by two flats. Even with...

No ... Like a lot of us old veterans, the Pumpkin served honorably and now has it's DD-214. Although it will always be an old soldier at heart, it now wears civilian clothes.
BUT --- on Parade-Day it will still flies the colors and wears it's ribbons
For some reason there is a lot of unused space in the standard heater box. I cut mine down and moved it from under the hood to under the dash. Once cut down it fits under the dash --- no problem.
Day-Two
Today, soldier number-one and soldier number-two (The Dos Grunts) were at it again. The day started by driving the Woogie (donor truck) to Area-52. It was a difficult "last ride". I've had this truck for 14 years and I felt I was taking a faithful old dog to the vet to be put down...

That, is my daily driver and the best truck I've ever owned. When I quit my corporate job several years ago I bought the crew cab (The Goose) for $1,300.00 and have been driving it for going on ten years. Before serving a 20 year stint with the Deering North Dakota fire...
