We had this same issue on another forum I am on. Search wasn't very effective and the same topics would get covered multiple times. They came to the solution of not archiving threads anymore. Once they are a year old they disappear forever. That keeps the search feature searching only a few...

Geeze people. It is a forum, not an archive. If you want an archive why don't you go ahead and build yourself a site that only has a search function and no ability to post and see how many members that attracts for you. Answer the question or don't... I get sick of reading the same people...

From invoices I have received over the years that is the case. From what some on here have said they have spent with GL I think if the DOD started selling their own surplus or handed it over to GSA we could solve the national dept problem.

Met: I would start with the actual shifter. I don't know about getting into those and repairing them... Anytime my shop has an issue with one they just replace it.

Maybe you will get lucky and it is just a linkage issue. I have a lot of experience with their 4000 series and when they go it is always the forward gears first, but usually you still have a squealing noise in drive. The a3 has a 500 series AT1545P, it's an oddball and other than a3s haven't...

Unfortunately it sounds like you need to rebuild that Allison. Does it make noise when in drive, like a high pitch squeal, or is it completely silent?
