If I get a deuce how broke will I be?

It really depends on what condition you get and how you maintain and use it. Solid well built trucks but need care. Parts seem to be fairly easy to find. Lots of knowledgable folks to help ya also.

Gone and done it In Sc

I wish the auction time was shorter. I don't like investing 3 days following the auction only to lose out in the last 5 minutes. I never seem to be around the computer at 4:30. Might be a good thing though.

So, I've never actually had 2.5tons on the truck before.

Long story short. Don't bog it, don't overrev it and don't make it shake. Just stay smooth and in the recomended rpm range. Thats all.

Newbie scared to pull the trigger

Life goes by fast. Try one out. You don't have to drive it everyday -- just when you want to ride in something COOL and unique. Being loud with no AC or other creature comforts will weed out the pretenders and set you apart.:-D

    How are SF-97s currently moving?

I just sent mine in over the weekend. I was considering going with a private title service but figured i'd save the money and put it into the Deuce.

    Identification of drop side bed

:ditto: and look at the front corners of the bed for a latch. You can usually see the hinges in the photos. I don't see many drop side trucks though and they often seem a little more rough than average for some reason.

    Barstow recovery

Thanks for the advice. I'm taken my camera - good or bad its gonna be used. I don't think I'm quite as well prepared as Dug was - sounds like he took everything. I'm going to take what I got and hope to pick a few things up on the way. I had a longer work day than I had planned and didn't get a...

    Barstow recovery

You look a little shifty there Dug, no wonder the EUC took so long.:-D Glad the recovery worked out well for ya. I'm going to get mine tomorrow and I hope its as smooth as yours was.

    EUC - Such randomness!

Dug, sounds like your EUC was a lot more trouble than mine and still took the same amount of time. I only had 1 revision, then off to Battle Creek. My auction ended on the 12th of March also and I just got my PAID IN FULL INVOICE today. It did sit in "Submission Pending" land for a couple of...

    No Garage, Need Insurance

Have to give another endorsment for State Farm. They insure 8 vehicals for me including a 23k dump truck for the past 6 or 7 years. The agent knows what the truck is because he met me at the job I was working and looked at the truck. Also says it on the statement. I think it might depend on your...
