I have one that looks to be reconditioned by the military (that is how I bought it and I never used it). I'd take $450 for it. It is in a wooden crate and would cost some bucks to ship, I'd suspect (fairly heavy/large). I won't charge you any handling, but you pay actual shipping. Another...
I was reading this thread because I was curious about the problem and solution. While I don't have anything to add regarding the solution, I think it is almost Impossible for any overfilling of the fuel tank to affect the transfer case in anyway. I am not sure how fuel from the tank would get...
I have heard from guys in the military that it is much easier (translation = less paperwork and justification) to scrap a truck rather than turn it in. These guys (one NG and the other active duty) told me that the paperwork and scrutiny is more intense if they are turning a truck in as opposed...
That truck probably was with several units throughout its life. Gently and carefully sand down the bumperettes (or the front bumper) and hopefully you'll be able to track the units the truck was with.
Try getting a title these days for a truck without one...especially a military vehicle. It used to be very easy. There were several companies that could help you get a title, but most or all of them have been unavailable to help. So, yes, I offered a blanket statement to help him. If you...
Depending upon your truck, it can vary. Your truck may have the older (but better) and recently retrofitted M809 series filter under the fender. There should also be a spin on filter located on the driver's side of the block (back toward the firewall). Then, there also may be a small inline...
I believe they will fit on the truck, although I have never done it so I hope someone who has will confirm this. I do not believe that the 1600 spare will fit in the 1400 spare tire carrier. The A2s are not overpowered as they are and you are going to rob it of even more power...not sure you...
With regard to the power, have you changed your filters? If not, do so. Also, make sure you burn any old fuel through or empty it out (which would be better). I also suggest adding some good diesel conditioner.
In high range, the 6CTA has little power from a dead stop. Once the truck gets rolling, and the turbo starts to spool up, the truck should pull nicely. Every time I pull out somewhere, I am disappointed by the power. Now, in low range, the truck has serious power...but most of us run around...
Ethan was a good man and good friend; we talked often. I wish I were in a position to purchase this stuff, but I have other projects going on. In my opinion, the M35A2C is worth $4K even with the issues...probably $5K if you got it running properly.
Good luck with the sale.
