What is required to bypass M923a2 CTIS

As someone above said, it is probably a wheel seal. You can check this by slopping soapy water all over the rim. Look for bubbles! With that said, I have never had a truck with working CTIS...at least that worked for very long. To bypass it, simply disconnect the wiring harness from the...

6/8/13 - Breakfast in Eldersburg, Maryland

Hey Ollie, great to see you on the list. For those who don't know him, Ollie is the MAN when it comes to HMMWV mechanics!

How Far Can A M923 Run on Just 4 Batteries?

I assume you plan on installing the belts, right? Why not just bring a good alternator?

6/8/13 - Breakfast in Eldersburg, Maryland

I have a suggestion. We need to move this event around the state. I am not suggesting this for me as I may or may not come. However, I have heard from several past attendees that they have stopped coming because the location is so far away. I think we should rotate it from Eldersburg to...

M923 upgrade to M925 need advice

Convert your truck to an M925 by adding a winch...find a blank dataplate (they are around)...and re-stamp it with your original VIN. The only real problem...that 99.9% of people won't notice...is your VIN will start with C523...instead of C525 for the w/w winch dropside cargo. MAKE SURE you...

Parting out military trucks for fun and profit?

Be VERY careful about trying to export unless you have an export license. I realize these trucks (the M939s...for some really strange reason) are not EUC items. Still, be careful.

    No turn signals on M927

PM if you'd like. I will give you my cell number. I have owned a number of these trucks as far back as 2001. I have probably experienced most everything you can find on the M939 series trucks. They used to be my favorite until everyone and their brother got one. Not trying to sound...

How do I know if my M927 was rebuilt

It is scary what they consider rebuilt. The RRAD trucks have a sticker on the driver's door that says something like "WE REBUILD THE TRUCKS LIKE OUR LIVES DEPEND ON IT BECAUSE THEIRS DO." Not sure that is true is all I'm saying. I have yet to find a rebuilt truck without flaws. While that was...

Parting out military trucks for fun and profit?

Can you make money parting a truck out? Yes. However, most of this is not like handling gold. You will almost certainly sit on the bulky stuff that you want to sell. Hoods, beds, cabs...that stuff is going to sit. You'll find that guys grab up the trinkets quickly and the carcass is left...

How do I know if my M927 was rebuilt

That is a rebuilt truck for sure! Now, exactly what a "rebuild" entails is up for debate. I have had trucks with new motors, rebuilt motors, original motors that were repainted...and the same for t-cases and transmissions. Most have new wiring, some have new gauges (although many of the RRAD...

    No turn signals on M927

Did you turn the lights on? Not trying to be a smart a$$, but there is a three lever switch that you need to utilize to turn the lights on. Does the truck have a push button light switch (I guess I should have asked that first)? If so, it could be bad or grounded incorrectly. Check your...

    High water/Fire Department M925A2

Yes. CTIS stands for Central Tire Inflation System.

    High water/Fire Department M925A2

That is false, my friend. I have had multiple A2s without ABS. HALFTRACK, on this list, bought an M925A2 from me that was like that.

    High water/Fire Department M925A2

I believe the fording kit also included stuff to pressurize the bell housing and other things. I don't have one on any current trucks so I can't check, but that is my recollection from my old M817 with a fording kit.

How do I know if my M927 was rebuilt

SUPRMAN, not all of the rebuilt trucks have those tags. I believe that the RRAD rebuilds are the only ones with those tags, although the Kansas Joint Readiness Center (I believe that is what it was called) has rebuilt a lot of trucks and I think they usually have a dataplate by the driver's...

    High water/Fire Department M925A2

You will know if your truck has ABS because there is a little amber light with a data plate surrounding it at the bottom left of the gauge cluster. Also, the truck SHOULD have a sticker in the bottom right (as you face the truck) corner of the driver's windshield.

    High water/Fire Department M925A2

Please take pics of the dash. I wonder if it really has a fording kit on it. While some Army trucks had them, most did not. The Marines never used the A2s and they would have installed the fording kit. The Navy, I guess, could have installed a fording kit because they did use the A2s, but I...

    M931 A2 - Brought it home today

Awesome looking truck. Good luck with it! Are you planning to haul a low boy on the road, or off-road? I ask this because I don't think you are going to like the truck when trying to tow a lowboy (probably weighing in the 20K pounds range) and a load. These trucks just don't have enough...
